Does this mean that we should be more inclined to barrel:

- loose openers who don't fold to 3b
- players that limp call a tonne
- low paired/uncoordinated flops vs tight players in blinds
- V who call cb's too much

checkraise:

-loose openers who cb too much
-tight 3b ranges on low coordinated/paired flops
-loose 3b ranges vs V who cb too much
-tight ranges on low/medium uncoordinated flops

etc etc - just thinking of spots to look for in future and start implementing them vs a few regs to see how things work out.

What do you mean by "when they're likely to recognize that". If an opponent is good enough to recognize his range is weak, and knows that you're good enough to know that, would he not just play back at you?

Sorry for all the questions. Brain is buzzing with PLO at the mo

I was lazy with my phrasing, I meant villain is the type that knows he shouldn't c/c flop with bottom pair + BDFD and the like.

As far as barreling goes, I'd lean towards delayed c-betting instead, but vs regs it's obv different.

You can also c/r regs with abandon on the mentioned boards, but be sure they're loose c-bettors. Experimenting is always good.

Was it raised preflop?

What is your position relative to the original raiser?

Will original raiser likely cb into 3 opponents?

What are stack sizes of opponents in flop?

Probably best if you just post the hand cos there is lot's of info missing.

I think you have to play more straight forward in multiway pots.

With 3 other opponents you can't expect original raiser to bet unless he has a good piece so I would just lead with your strong hands or you're going to be losing a street of value.

I wanted to play HU SNG PLO, as I played HU SNG in NLH, but I have a problem - most of these games are played hyper-turbo, starting from 30$ there is no action at all on turbo or normal tables. I really don't like hyper-turbo as there is almost no post-flop action and PLO seemed to be post-flop game, also it's hard to find edge in those kind of games, they last for a few hands and there is no time to build dynamics or reads.
I want to build up my roll to play cash HU PLO, and it seems I will have to play hyper-tubo HU SNG or have to switch to other game.
Anyway my questions are:
1) is there anything on internet I could learn more about hyper-turbo HU PLO games ?
2) can I have decent edge over opponents in this type of game or it is 1-5% ROI grind even if you are good player ?

I picked up AAA9 in a live 1-2 PLO. I am wondering the following:

1. Is this hand even playable preflop, and if it is, should I always be limping?

2. If someone open raised preflop, do I call with this hand?

3. Do the answers to those questions change much depending on whether or not the 9 is suited?

Keep in mind this is live, and I am virtually never stealing blinds.

Yeah just signed up to Deuces Cracked and downloaded "Solid State PLO" "Return of the G" "PLO by Numbers" and "Evil Plotters".

Stuff looks great for Micro Stakes. I was always under the impression that DC was mainly a micro/small stake site anyway so this will be grand for the time being.

It's only $29 per month as well, no sign up fee. Think I might just upgrade to a year tbh at the start of the month.

Hey guys are there any realistic (read: non-nitty) guides for starting hand selection for 6max? I've been through some of the stuff on the net and I am playing super nitty. The good rundowns seem to happen very rarely and half the time I get them I'm in a bad position on the table. The play is very loose at the micros so I have to fold a lot of hands that don't have much nut potential as the flops are multi-way.
Even when I do get to play them they don't seem to hit the flop very often and I have to check fold dry boards. I hear so much about the big wraps in Omaha and they never seem to happen.
Have I just been unlucky with my starting hands/flops or is this normal?
What sort of more marginal hands should I start adding to my opening range?
Is there anything else I should be looking for in a hand that will likely be multi-way both IP/OOP?

Thanks guys.

Hello. Dunno if it's the right topic to ask, but if you started with omaha with no or just a little of hold'em experience before, how much time or volume did it take you to start winning at plo2?

^^I have reasonable but limited (I only beat heads up hypers at low stakes) knowledge of NLH and I beat PLO2 after ~1 week. The biggest problem is getting used to lower relative hand strengths when everyone has four cards. And the higher importance of position. I didn't realise how much more position matters until I kept putting myself in bad spots

Of course my hand sample size is tiny so I may not actually beat it long term. I've been a loser at PLO5 over <1k hands too. I am a fish.

I would appreciate your opinions on the following dumb question that you guys get a million times over:

Where should a US player deposit if the goal is to play low stakes PLO and PLO8? What are some options and what are the pros and cons?

Thank you for taking the time out to answer. I really do appreciate it.

A revealed bill draft to be considered in November lame duck Congress session is seriously concerning me. US player pool is going to be segregated from the rest of the world after an 18-month total blackout. No matter the bill will pass in this edition or not, UIGEA is to be strengthened so I'm afraid US-facing networks might be banned soon and don't recommend you to store much money on poker accounts.

If you're still interested, read Internet Poker Sticky: Where US inhabitants can play.

Basically, your choice is only between Merge and Revolution (former Cake, bought by Lock in May) as PLO(8) traffic is almost nonexistent on other US networks (Bovada, Winning (TP/ACR); Poker Pros is almost dead at all). One or both of them may be unavailable in your state.

PLO8 players mostly gang on Merge afaik, 4 running tables of .25/.50 and .50/1 (aggregate!) often run at peak hours, 1/3 games are rare. PLO traffic on Merge is better from my impression, on Revolution it seems a bit smaller. PLO8 traffic on Revo is smaller too so e.g. poor Leroy2DaBeroy (our dormant moderator ) has to mix .05/.10 with .25/.50! Probably you'll have to multisite to get enough good tables at non-peak times.

When choosing a skin within a network, you should look mainly at its cashout and support testimonials as cashouts for US players (even Western Union) are sooo slow (normally several weeks), plus fees for checks are $40 or so. There have been cases of deposits that were lost or charged twice, keep an eye on that!

Given this, I recommend to stick to skins that have 2+2 reps that usually resolve issues much faster than support teams. Official 2+2 threads/subforums:

Lock (Revolution), RPM/Carbon/PDC (Merge) - see the top of the Internet Poker main page. Also use the search function to find official threads of other Revolution (e.g. Cake, Intertops) and Merge (e.g. Black Chip, Hero Poker) skins.

As far as you can read in its forum, people don't like Lock's support and own soft, it probably outweighs their stellar rakeback bonuses/promos, so other Revolution skins are worth consideration too. Merge's soft is fast and up-to-date but buggy too (crashes often during MTTs).

Bottom line: read the Internet Poker forum before making any decisions! Ask people in O8 forum Merge regulars thread, they have much more experience with US-facing sites than me. Gl at the tables!
