anybody else having constant maintenance done every 15 minutes? Says it's going to log me out in 15 min then I can insta log back in and 5 min later it does it again..

Anyone seen a situtation on iPoker/William Hill where seats just stay 'reserved' with noone sitting on them?

Happened a lot to me quite a while back. Get used to it. Like I have said before...Playtech software, which is what all the iPoker skins use is attrocious

i think it's waiting for the first person on the waiting list to accept the seat (90 seconds and then it'll jump to the next one on the list or stop being reserved iirc). so if you wanna join the table, u have to join the waiting list in this case.

Too much money to be made is exactly what's gonna kill it. It's a goddamn miracle online poker still exists in it's current form.

If the sourcecode of those MSNL/HSNL bots caught last year got made public, online NLHE would be practically dead pretty much overnight. Although we don't really have to be scared of it getting released for public, as somebody's done thousands of hours of work for that and it's easily worth 8 figures, so it'd be pretty damn stupid to make it public. Anyway, those should've been enough to prove even the naysayer idiots that even with current technology and knowledge of developing AIs it's definitely possible to make bots good enough to kill the profitability of games. That should've been obvious to anyone even before that, but there's always those "hurrrdurrr poker is complicated and bots are stupid" guys who for some weird reason think it isn't possible to make bots that beat current highstakes games.

With more and more hardworking and extremely intelligent hackers/programmers living in poor 3rd world countries realizing how much money there is to be made in online poker, I'd be really surprised if we don't see many more similar (winning mid or even highstakes) bots in the future. And since there is very little manual labour required in online poker, they could even have a real person actually playing the hands, just doing what the program (on other computer) tells them to, making it impossible to detect bots from other than their playing patterns (which a programmer smart enough to develop bots to beat mistakes+ definitely knows how to hide well enough to make botting undetectable). Although with the way things have been for last few years, it's entirely possible that profitable online poker for vast majority of us (current regs) could be far gone before the botting kills it.

Anyway, in my opinion anyone who thinks it's probable that online poker still "really exists" (you can realistically and legally expect to make money playing it without cheating) in 10 years is extremely naive ...but obviously I hope that I'm wrong on this.

Pokerpad's new release now supports bet sizing at iPoker PL tables. Feel free to test it and report the results to its developer Brother Love, I'll do it only tomorrow as I'm taking a break from this terrible client (when, oh when will Playtech stop stealing focus from a table where it's my turn as well? ).

Also, TableDroid has added iPoker support in beta.

To highlight the active table, you may use the good old Roland's script (the 'slightly improved' version he posted below it didn't work on my desktop with a single display for some reason). It sometimes keeps two tables non-dimmed at once, but it's only a minor annoyance.

So what exactly happened with PartyPoker player pool segregation thing, are they still doing it? I'm really tempted to start playing on Party.

Anyone have an issue on MicroGaming where your action freezes only? Its happened a couple times now, at first I just thought it was my Net connection. However everything else works, can load pages, pople bet/check etc to me, I think click buttons however it doesnt do anythign :/

please full tilt remove your shallow tables. yes its the easiest way to achieve max rake every hand but there are hardly any full 100bb max tables running. just a thought

What exactly would be their incentive to remove casual players' favorite table format to have more 100bb tables instead, which wouldn't generate any more rake and make recreationals lose their money faster? On top of that it would just make FTP more of a direct competitor to their main site, since currently if somebody changes site because he hates shallow games, he'll probably just go to PS.

There's really not many, if any downsides for the site in the current system so let's be realistic, it'd be quite dumb of them to remove shallow tables.

This is not a sarcastic question in any way: if you choose not to sit at them, how does their existence affect you?

It kills the action at normal tables, especially in smaller networks. The fish often prefer shallow tables but if such games aren't available they'll just play other tables. PokerStars had this problem at one point with cap tables, they were definitely killing the action of normal tables which obv sucked for regs.

So although I think it'd be stupid of FTP to remove shallow tables, I can definitely see why winning regs would love to see that happen.

pretty much this. FTP had like 8 full shallow tables at 2/4 PLO going with waitlists and 0 tables at regular 2/4PLO tables
