okay guys this question is only for the odds guys all I am looking for is numbers and someone who can calculate this for me and show how this is done I will be very thankful

What are the odds in PLO that when you have nut flush opponent will have straight flush? This happened on turn so can you please share the exact odds.

I have Ac 5c 9h Jh

Opponent has Tc 9c Kd 7d

Board comes

Td 8c 7c 6c 5h

This is an actual hand

There's a probability subforum for this post. Although that's even the wrong way to think about it if you actually want to improve at poker.

agreed, sounds like OP just wants to know odds to show how unlucky he is. but you should be aware that this is gonna happen in PLO.

In this particular situation? the odds are 100% that your opponent has a straight flush.

Jkjk.

Since you block the 5, this is pretty easy. It looks like you ran it twice on the river, so lets assume we're thinking about this problem on the turn.

4 cards on the board and 4 cards in your hand imply there are 52 - 8 = 44 unseen cards. Your opponent has a straight flush when he has T9 in his hand, and any two other cards. The number of these hands is:
(42 choose 2) = (42 * 41)/(2 * 1) = 861.

All the possible hands your opponent could have is:
(44 choose 4) = (44 * 43 * 42 * 41)/(4 * 3 * 2 * 1) = 135,751.

Meaning the probability your opponent has a straight flush on the turn (assuming he has 4 random cards) is:
861/135,751 = 0.6%.

The only use to this information is that you can never profitably fold.

Are there any situations in poker where you can profitably fold

Is there ever a situation where a penny saved equals a penny earned?

I figured out that folding 100% of hands preflop is profitable because -25bb/100 is way better than the -10000bb/100 I get when I play hands.

hahaha knew you would say that, guess what ur calculations are only from the turn, factor in preflop and this scenario when I have nuts on the flop, nuts on the turn and he also gets super nuts on turn is actually a one in a million shot.

So this dandy dude hits me up for a one in a million shot bye theSpartanPoker, I am leaving u forever, keep milking the poor indian junta by bots, setups and what nots,
