You didn't make that bad of a call tbh considering you had a 9 and 7 in your hand but you have to think about what range of hands this player is calling a x/r with.

How would you play it?

It was really hard for me to fold the straight with blockers against a villain like this.

I am not really sure if he is not capable of doing this with crap like lower straights, something like QT9X with backdoor fds that decide don't fold on the flop, AA9T with backdoor fds and craps like that

probably just get away from it on the turn, its 987 rainbow he cant be drawing to anything but the fill up really and he's not going to start bluffing with a straight

Not gonna fold this with those two boat blockers.. The questions are, imo, if to 3b pre and if to bet turn+jam river for value ourselves

If you guys would call with JT97 but fold JTKQ you are making a mistake against this nutjob.

I think you played it fine, having the 97 just makes it easy

Would you go with it with both of them?

Do you think x/c x/c > than bet bet ourselves against this player?

Maybe x/c x/c with this particular hand, and bet bet with JTKQ makes a lot more of sense?

Against this aggro rec. Check/calling with the blockers seems like a interesting option to me. Probably he will make more mistakes against passiveness than against aggression

Really uncomfortable spot. I'm gonna say just fold turn. There are plenty of laggy fish that are super loose pre and cbet and semibluff a lot, but pure-bluffing to move someone off what obviously looks like a straight takes a more unique mindset. Without a specific read that he's capable of making a huge pure-bluff or a read that he's such a drooler he might nonsensically be value-betting worse, just fold.
