Yeah i get that, problem is that I don't want to do YY days because it would distract from my normal grinding and i don't want to do the challenge at my normal stakes cause who wants to root for a shortstacker?

i think this is more fun to follow...since you can come down the strech like "oh he has 4 days to go and 22bi left...GO GO GO" instead of "hmm...he 5k hands left and 25bi left, no way he's gonna make it"......if you understand what i'm after here.
+1. Run it up challenges seem kinda old to me.

what kind of timeframe are you thinking for the challenge?

the reason i ask is that you can obv do the "climbing through the ranks" thing, but to do it with small risk of ruin will most likely take a lot of time. it all depends on whether you wanna do an "educational" climbing through the ranks, or "hit or bust" type of thing.

either way it will be interesting, shortstacking or not

hadn't really thought about time frame, i don't want it to drag on, maybe a couple of months. i'm not totally discounting an XX buyins in YY days thinh

Re: *** No wonder I felt so bad. There was some puke in my stomach. (June LC thread) ***

yeah then maybe a thing where you move up when you have 30bi to the next level. this way risk of ruin with your edge is small, but won't take forever either.

or even more fun would be "shortstacker's rise through the ranks - deep table edition" where you start at plo10 and move up when you have ~4000bb for next level.

this way you might get something out of it as well, instead of being another standard grind. (assuming you haven't played much ante tables before)

Re: *** No wonder I felt so bad. There was some puke in my stomach. (June LC thread) ***

cool idea would be interested and follow if it was something move up through the micros nowadays, start at plo10 and move up through the stakes. Think that would be better for the average joe to observe and follow. also plo10 players will think like ZOMG POKERSTARS PRO AT MY TABLE, which i think could be cool for pokerstars as well, just my 2cents

Anyone here any good at physics? Actually even general math knowledge i think could confirm if im making a retarted mistake here

not always that simple.

In some matches, the average amount of shots during rallies can be significantly higher than normal. Heat+dehydration can also play tricks on u, unless ur extremely well-prepared.

Re: *** No wonder I felt so bad. There was some puke in my stomach. (June LC thread) ***

how much starting with roy?

5? 50? 500?

I like challenges of x$ to y$ in z time frame

The 5$ to 1000$ in a week challenge on BBV a while ago was rather inspiring

makes 50 to 1000 look like a piece of cake- and it is

10k hands limit doesn't really take discipline and motivation- its more about luck and skill- which will be factored by vollume- which in turn factors skill. Yh so I think time frame > hand volume

Isn't $5 -> $1000 down to a lot of luck too? I mean even at $0.01/$0.02 it's only 250BBs and 6-7 min buyins. I think there's more luck involved with that (getting off to a good start or you're just dead) than starting with say $50 where even if you run badly you can recover and grind back. Thanks for the ideas everyone.

I didn't see it live, but I think they had a 38 stroke rally in 60 seconds, Dimitrov just collapses from exhaustion and Gasquet pukes for the same reason (and he said he had just eaten a banana ha before that game ha).

http://www.rolandgarros.com/en_FR/mu...8000003dc.html

Theres a link to the whole rally, as the Youtube one was taken down! I hope it works for everyone, I'm in France, but think it works in the UK, so should be ok for US guys as well

Google "Astonishing rally Roland Garros" to find it if this one doesn't work and you're interested to see it!
