Live 1/3 PLO. There is one player who has potted literally every single hand preflop, so depending on his position, it costs between 10 and 30 to see a flop. He and I have already had two flippaments in which I had AAxx (I was 1 for 2, which I can live with.)

My stack size is about 560, maniac has much more, there are a couple shorties (less than 200) but mostly I'm covered. Maniac is a little more sober post-flop, but he will always put it in the middle with two pair, flush draw, or OESD. Other players are generally judicious, not payoff wizards, but likely to put it in with two pair or better.

I'm in the SB w/478J, and it is 18 to me to see a flop. I am certain that BB will repot with Aces and no other hand. Action will close with BB

I elected to call, and the action closed with about 140 in the pot, 7 players.

My default play is to pot it with any 56 or T9 that was not single suited, and give up on two pairs, flush draws and non wrap draws, and to play with extreme caution (pot control) on flopped trips. My table image is tight, as I had only shown down the 2 AAxx flippaments in the 90 minutes we had played together as a table.

I was berated by another player at the conclusion of the hand. Thoughts?

Keep things simple and +EV, fold preflop. A call is pretty bad, there's basically no amount of postflop skill that can turn this hand in this position into a +EV proposition.

Hmm, bad position, hand that against 7 people needs a very good flop to be worth damn and very likely has very few good turn/river cards.

Me no likey.
