Hi All,

I think I'm making the rookie mistakes of misplaying my hands where I have AA. I think it's the biggest area I need to improve on for my Omaha Hi game and it's where I also feel lost the most on the flop. I've got 3 examples here where I'd like to hear your thoughts and critiques on how to play these hands better. I think I caught a cooler on one or two of these but please tell me if it was actually a horrible play and I'm just a sucker. I didn't list other examples but I find I lose all in a lot against sets on dry boards (do I need to fold to any raise to my cbet with AAxx where I don't catch anything or have any draws?)

Hand #1: My thoughts here are after being 3bet that 10 6 3 rainbow is a safe flop for me... is this just a cooler?

dont post results...

but i'd be getting it on all 3 flops as played. hand 1 and 2 are super standard with the SPR

hand 3 i'd bet larger unless you have history/reads where you can lead small and get him to shove with his air. since you have the k to block a lot of his 2pr hands and KK, plus overpair w/gutter i still get it in but am not super thrilled about it.

a lot of times i'll just call oop with non-premium AAxx hands if i cant get enough of my stack in to shove any flop. not sure if this is bad/leaky but whatev...

edit:

in hand 3 i missed the shorty being all in and see his stack size would def just call the initial raise hoping for the shorty to go all in so i could 4bet

Not sure why you would post those hands.

Hands 1 & 2 are super standard.

I really like how you played hand 3 by not necessarily playing a big side pot against a TAG on that flop

Thanks all... I find I'm stacking off a lot in these situations and if I win I usually take it down with a cbet... Just wasn't sure if I should start limping or 3 betting a lower amount with these hands so I can avoid stacking off due to a low spr

I should probably add that I have a standard open raise with a larger range of hands of about 10% and my 3bet % is probably pretty low. Should I be raising more often? Am I giving away tells that I have premium hands with that low of a pfr? My vpip is closer to 25% - 30% as I find a lot of people open raising so I flat in position.

30/10/4? (assumption) are not good preflop stats, you should look to be the agressor/open raiser most times you are willing to enter a pot.

each hand was played perfectly. with the given stacks you always want to be getting as much money in preflop as possible. When you get a lot deepr it becomes more interesting.

i disagree with hand 3. think it´s a mistake to b/f in this spot.

How would you play this if hero and villain have $10 behind?
