Hey, don't post here much anymore since i gave up on poker :P. But its probably where I've posted the most and I've gotten alot of good advice over the years in regards to some personal stuff, depression and motivation alot way back when. I made a pretty long post on last page of my fitness log, I'm looking to break out of a motivation/discipline cycle problem I think i've been having for a long time. I won't pollute lc with it, but if anyone would want to look and possibly give some advice or thoughts I would really appreciate it

gf's favorite song and she really likes your playing, as i do. good times

Seriously great playing. I didn't keep up with your musical posts jab, but clearly I should've. Think your touch is really good, sounds like there's a lot of feeling in the notes you play.

Thanks guys. My "feel" is definitely something I take pride on. I'm not the most technical and skilled pianist, but I feel like I'm able to translate the emotion of the words in my playing to some extent.

March has been somewhat mad for me though. The musical I'm in has started out full force now. Weekends have been 12 hour practices, then 5-8 hours on half of the weekdays. Thursday and Friday were off-days last week. On Thursday I had band practice and on Wednesday I went to the Finnish Grammys. Slept 5 hours and went to practice on Saturday morning. Today's another day off, which I'm using as going to piano class and band practice. Then tomorrow and Wednesday practice 3PM-11PM. Thursday I shouldn't have anything, Friday this white tie student event with fancy dinner, etc. Saturday a champagne breakfast to continue on with that party. Sunday dress rehearsal, Monday premier, and Wednesday we start the tour. I have maybe 5 days off this month from the project.

Where are you guys touring?
03-10-2014 , 03:48 PM
Shows are in Helsinki, Espoo, Tampere, Oulu, Turku and Lappeenranta.

The next question is obv: date for Turku?
03-10-2014 , 06:15 PM
We don't share the same taste for music, but you do have that touch, Jabo. What is your group called, if you don't mind sharing?
03-10-2014 , 07:16 PM
Turku is April 12th.

I don't really feel like I have a particular taste of music. I listen to a wide range of stuff, and John Legend isn't too close of a description for it. I listen to a lot of rock, some folk, indie, jazz, pop, hiphop, blues... Very song-dependent. As for songs I cover, the range is narrower, as it has to translate to piano or acoustic guitar + vocals in some way.

This project is called Teekkarispeksi, it's Finland's largest student musical, with improvisation playing a big part (audience can shout for a scene to be redone in some way, for the band to play something, etc).
