since i just switched to PLO 1 month and something back and moved part of my roll to ipoker (for rb, ldo), july goals are:

>1.5k rake
beating 50$ PLO
running over EV

easy :P especially the last part

- get supernova back [10,000/64000 vpps so far]
- build up roll to start playing 1/2 and 2/4 deep
- spew less
- win micro millions leaderboard for pca 2013 package [lol, theyre 24/7 so only gonna go for this if i do well in 1st couple days]
- start doing some exercide again, cycling gym etc.

-play at least 80 hours
-get to the next limit by the end of the month
-analyze at least 10 hours
-do pushups every day

I'm really trying not to drink this month. The last weekend I will go to our summer cottage for a crayfish party though, so then might have to have some schnaps!

Just work, poker, gym and shooting hoops for July, baby!

This may come as a cooler to many of you, but I have changed my goal the following way:

The combination of high variance, me having less time to play poker, combined with a downswing right now which probably primarily is due to deficient skills, me wanting to win, never having to reload, not wanting to feel stressed, not caring much about how things look when I feel they are right for me, have led me to the following conclusion: I will stick to PLO2 zoom the forseeable future. I will not get in enough hands to see how good I really am, will have my bad days, will have to test certain plays and often failing.

The challenge is, instead of moving up: I will look at how high winrate it's possible for me to achieve at PLO2 zoom. Not before winning very confidently for an extended time, doing all the ev++ tests, getting a real picture of how I perform in reality, taking into account the impact of my A, B and C games, I will consider moving up.

I'll simply try to be a master of PLO2 zoom.

This is not a level btw

I've already expressed my opinion a thousand times, but 2 tables of PLOZ10 are a minimum imho, otherwise it's more profitable to take extra hours at your main job.

Or multisite PLO8, its variance is twice smaller and comparable to NLHE, and it's running at plenty of places especially at .05/.10.

It's a general misconception that you can play poker only for the money. I play it because it's fun and interesting, but I'm not a classic gambler. My primary goal is to win long term, plain and simple. And I know that every hand counts for achieving that goal, therefore I take every hand seriously. But it's more of trying to win big blinds, with suitable resistance. If the resistance was high enough at play money, that would do, I guess. But it's not. At PLO2 the resistance is high enough for me, at least at the moment.

I get my money elsewhere.

1. grind more, 25-30 hours/week
2. finish volunteering, or cut my hours back a ton, probably start traveling again
3. Get better at Spanish, make sure I don´t fall in the trap of hanging out with English speaking backpackers a bunch. Actually study or take classes instead of just counting on learning by speaking and listening.
4. Learn to dance better, take classes instead of just trying to learn on nights I go out.
5. Learn to cook better, maybe take classes, or at least get friends to teach me.
6. Review sessions, either continue being coached or post lots on 2p2 if not.
7. Post in threads about hands, read hsplo hands regularly
8. Meditate regularly, nearly every day for at least 20 minutes
9. Read at least two or three books
10. Life profit??

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I can get twenty workouts in this month.

On a more serious note, I did succeed with this goal in June, so I'm hoping to do it again in July. I'm a little behind on the hands goal, but that's only because I'm running hot and beating my profit pace.

Time to start grinding more.
