2/2 plo, 9 player live

mp $600 (LAG)
co (Hero = 5 T J Q) $600

preflop:
utg straddles to $5, mp/hj/hero/sb/bb calls, utg checks

flop ($30): 3 9 K
blinds/utg checks, MP pots, hj folds, Hero?

villain is a decent player that has pretty good ability in picking up abandoned pots.
but am lost about him potting on this dry board.
3 pair?

I have an inside wrap and a backdoor flush draw.
I'm tempted to peel one to see if i improve to a flush draw or the nuts (straight).

Your thoughts?

fold pre. he's probably got top two or set, people don't really stab in 6 way pots and generally PSB = nuts in live plo. call or fold seem reasonable, i would fold myself you are just under 4:1 dog to improve and getting only 2:1

There's only one draw on this dry flop (which you have), and with your read villain could well be trying to pick this one up, given that no-one else has shown any real interest. Odd bet sizing though, makes it look pretty polarised to at least top two or a set.

I'd be happier calling a 2/3 or 3/4 pot bet, but I think I'd still be peeling one here.

I would never fold this pre-flop - big mistake imo (domination potential on a passive table).
On the flop I guess I would also peel one given the SPR is decently high.

seems like a fairly standard call this deep, no?

agree with call flop, you have position and you should have decent implied odds + visibility on later streets. it's also unlikely somebody raises the flop given the dryness of the flop and the action pre.
if you pick up a FD or on an 8 you can even peel another bet on the turn.

+1

Pre is loose, but u can prolly get away with it if its a std live game with really bad recreatioal players

huh?
hwang said 3 Broadway cards + a dangler, at least single-suited, are marginal hands.
In position after limpers, we should usually overlimp.

Hwangs stuff is very generalised and doesn't account for either the online or live game flows.

Given that villain is capable of betting out mw as a bluff to pick up the pot (if that's what your read is), as well as repping strong value hands I think we can call here, even more so the SPR is such that villain can't threaten our entire stack on turns.
