Re: ~ July LC Thread ~
Wow, I thought my previous life was useless to my poker career, but now I realise that during the former I gained a supernatural ability to 4-table on 10'' 1024x600 .

Yh something like that... For 6 months it's just def too much. the 24'' seem to be like 140e. Ofc you can 6 table on a 15'' notebook, but longterm it just sucks soo bad.

I figured it would be fun to organize another SSPLO meeting for that weekend that I could host. You can lmk if ur interested in this thread, if I get enough potential participants I'll start a separate thread.
Molf is a slow-paced, sociable game, which combined with a few beers and the Finnish summer makes for an awesome experience

Re: ~ July LC Thread ~
A buddy of mine is content manager at the new PokerListings Finnish country site, he wanted me to start blogging there weekly. Can u guys give me any tips on what kinda stuff I should write about? never blogged but obv read a few.
currently, my std day goes as follows:
noon-1pm: wake up, get my toddler ready for his nap time
1pm-3pm: eat breakfast/lunch, watch TV with wife
3pm-5pm: spend time with toddler
5pm-6pm: make/eat dinner
6pm-8pm: spend time with toddler
8pm-10pm: get toddler to bed/sleeping
10pm-4am: play online
rinse > repeat
I should prob write about poker, I guess

Re: ~ July LC Thread ~
Write how you keep fit enough to play 6 hours in a row, that sounds incredible.
I get totally exhausted after 2.5 hours of play and then fool around on 2+2 for long trying in vain to negotiate myself into playing the second or third session.
I couldn't last even 2 hours today as villains were fast as hell, I was tempted to tell them to think more on their moves .
Breaking the grinding day into 3 sessions seems good to me. At CET noon there's surprisingly good traffic, so you can play poker instead of watching (basically sucking) TV, your time with the wife and the toddler can be combined (you spend 2 hours to bed him o_O, he must be a tough one).

lol, i rarely play the full 6hrs, obv, gotto cool down on 2+2 for the last 2-3
midstakes at noon CET is rarely great imo, I sometimes check the tables for some Canadian whales though
wish I could play 2 evening sessions, but atm the wife's got a handful with the newborn, don't wanna make her breast-feed while feeding the toddler, etc - and she already does that on breakfast, lol. Should get easier towards xmas as the baby starts sleeping more regularly during the day.
sleeping difficulties with 2-year-olds is apparently pretty common, just gotto grind out the phaze, I guess.

If you wanna take a gamble (we're in PLO forums, so why wouldn't you?) I recommend taking a look at korean small/unknown brand monitors. Many of them use good panels, same than some Dells etc. Build quality is most likely gonna be worse and I wouldn't count on warranty even if you're promised one, but on the other hand prices are also like 1/3th of brand monitors with same panels. Not sure how german taxes/toll effect that though.
I got mine (Hamakasi Catleap Q270, 27" 2560x1440) for ~345€ incl shipping and customs and it has been good so far. It has same LG panel some iMac screens have. Build quality isn't as bad as I was expecting after reading some comments, but it's definitely worse than Eizos, Benqs or any other big brand.
(at the time I was buying it, dell u2711 was the cheapest brand option, starting at ~700€ if buying from abroad/germany and it I'm not a big fan of antiglare coating dell uses)
PTieto has quite an active monitor thread with 10 pages http://www.pokeritieto.com/keskustel...12-t37699.html

Other question. I've decided to go pick up a MBP retina befor I start grinding again. What kind of screens are you guys using. I've always been playing on a laptop + 1 22'' but the 22' really sucks at getting tables on it. I guess I have the option of doing 2* 22'' plus laptop screen. What are you guys using?
|
18,4" XMG P801 PRO (with a bunch of upgrades) + 24" widescreen monitor both @ 1920x1080.
i replaced my desktop with this beast a couple of months ago. best purchase i've made in ages as i now have my "office" with me wherever i go.
(and my laptop is faster than all of you guys' desktops )
