Grats to all those whose FTP funds will get released! (I had $0 there, lucky beast.)

As to domination of Stars, do you think Zynga (a huge FB game provider) that have got bids from Ongame, Playtech (iPoker) and Gtech (Boss Media) to develop real-money soft (yeah we can all imagine how horrible this soft will be ) will rival Stars seriously in the near future?

They are way too dependent on the US market, they could get HUGE, if the US market opens, but before that, I very much doubt it.

After "1/2 a bill Tuesday" I can't see it long before U.S. gets its legislation,

What concerns me more at the moment is how stars are gonna sqooze the 1/2 a bill fee out of the players over the next couple of years + pay back mass immediate withdrawals...

I thought FTP was bankrupt.
And why would PS buy such a company that doesnt make any sense to me.

The 1/2 billion can easily be made from the advantage on the US market alone. They are still market leading with their software. And after paying back all of FTP, no one will ever play elsewhere.

But in the light of this, the purchase of FTP makes no ****ing sense.

DoJ pretty much told Stars that it's up to them to handle the bill for this mess... in return they will be allowed to apply for a US license. Buying FTP is more about that than their "assets" afaik

By acquring a saviour image and dominating the reopened US market ldo. Stars are the last thing I'm worrying about, I'm sure they've made this move because they've estimated it as +EV for them.

The purchase of FTP is purely for PR and friendship with DOJ.

Rush Poker is not a reason as it's not patented (only pending since 2007), and chances are it will never be. It has been copied by a number of networks and thus its patentability has been questioned (Instadeal began development of its analogue independently and long before Rush was offered).

OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOGMOGMGO YESSSSS

ty PS! had lots of $ + 300k FTpoints + 2-3k tournament $

Also @ chinz: it's true not much traffic at ipoker lately. But found myself a nice fish who thinks I'm worse than him (maybe I am; i suck a lot HU). I've been plaing him HU day and night these days. Seems like the solution. On a more serious note: it looks like traffic comes and goes on ipoker. Pretty sure the pace will pick up again

Re: that goes down as the weakest nom in history ~ July LC Thread ~

Had like 5K maybe 100k ftpoints (can't really remember though). Still gonna take a while to see it in the bank accounts but nice to have it 'guaranteed.'

Nice little bonus. Maybe give 5% to charity as a karma boost.

Zynga has the benefit of a large player base, but that player base doesn't necessarily translate on a 1:1 or even 1:5 ratio to real money players.

These players were playing Zynga poker when FTP and PS were (more or less) available. I think getting bids from ongame / playtech / boss is another indication of weakness, in my opinion they should have the IP to develop this in house, and these software products are second class to PS.

Zynga has been getting hammered in the market (52 week range 2.85 - 15.91) now trading 2.95. IMO, if they can handle it, they should get into real money asap to make some monies.
