Hello!
As the title suggests, I am prepared to offer free coaching to anyone who wants to go vegan (preferably from meat-eating). Obviously it's going to be hard to control but I think it's possible to make some sort of arrangements that I can approve. Perhaps the easiest would be to do it with someone reputable.

I do believe going vegan is the single most ethical thing you can do from an altruistic, utalitarian perspective (most +EV, pokertards) as an individual. You'll likely also improve your health (which I don't give a flying fk about). If you are interested then let me know here or PM me.

The vegan diet is definitely not optimal for human health. Actually we are natural carnivores and the best thing to eat is lightly cooked red meat. What you really want to do is eliminate sugars, processed foods, drinks and carbohydrates while maintaining a 60/40 or 80/20 intake of macro nutrients (fat/protein).

There is nothing 'ethical' about sacrificing yourself and altruism in general is over rated. Why not live your life for yourself, instead of constantly trying to please other people who are almost invariably apathetic about you?

I might be interested but then I already know I should go vegan. I've been a veggie for almost 2 years but what's stopping me taking the extra step is partly down to my depression and lack of ability to cook. I eat Vegan when I can (fairly often) but like to have easy to cook food in for those days when I'm feeling unmotivated to do anything. And there isn't a lot of easy to cook food that is Vegan.

Humans adapted to eat meat because of ice ages, it is not optimal by any means . I remember growing up reading all sorts of propaganda in primary school.. and coffee is just poison that induces an adrenaline rush like cigs ..

If we can be more kind with other animals and healthier without eating them, don't see how it can't be EV+

Vegetarian here also, it's a nice idea to reward people like that for making a positive change, gl to you.

My only concern would be the difficulty in actually monitoring whether or not someone was just bull****ting you, seems pretty easy for someone to claim they have gone vegan just for the coaching.

Malnutrition in exchange for coaching? Pass.

Such a tempting bait but really, debating nutrition with vegans is like discussing geography with flat earthers.

Tell that to an infant baby. Not sure if you're trolling but if you aren't then thankfully the world isn't comprised only by people who think like you.

I don't know how it is where you live but here in Sweden, vegan products have skyrocketed in the supermarkets and it's now really easy to get any meat-substitute that is super-easy to cook fast and very tasty. Like say just some vegan dumplings that you put in the frying pan with some broccoli for 7-8 mins. For take-out, asian restaurants are usually good with vegan options because they use coconutmilk as their base. If you make the transition I can at least give you 1 free lesson. PM me.

I´ve tried going vegan in the beginning of 2015 (for similar reasons as you pointed out in your opening post jedimaster). However I abandoned my plans after ~2 weeks because I had problems with reaching my daily requirement of calories and therefore was feeling a bit tired during the day.

Didn´t you experience similar problems after making the switch? Or was this simply the transition period and I should have continued for more time?
The "vegan dumplings + broccoli" also sounds like the kind of meal that won´t be enough to fulfill my calorie intake requirements.

Thank you for your help in advance.
(I´d also be interested in the coaching of course!)

My wife's cousin is a gastroenterologist and he goes out is his way to tell people NOT to be 100% vegetarian because that's a high percentage of the patients he sees. They develop serious issues over time.

I'd be interested, at least being vegan for a while. Kind of tough to promise I'd do it for the rest of my life

But maybe I don't fit your target criteria, since I've been a vegetarian for 30 years.

BTW, how strict would one need to be? Say I'm going to a birthday party - is it so that I can't for instace take any cake since it has cream?

I'm a vegetarian and have been de-facto ignoring eggs (raw ones, not as a factory bakery component), but it's really hard to abstain from dairy products, even though I've had a kind of intolerance to them lately.

So I approve of the thread, even though I don't play PLO much these days - the money in poker has migrated from here to Spins.
