could be A9 or possibly KK with hearts? AK with K of hearts also possible but probably least likely hand to jam pot

I have a hard time thinking about hands the checks back on turn and then pots river with. Wouldn't he bet turn with all sets + A9, A4? I guess other weak aces would check back but why pot river then? His play does not seem to make sense to me so I would call.

Or is there a case to be made for villain to check back 99/TT on turn to get value on river?

I think its a call, after turn check (and flop call) villain knows you practically never have a boat on this river, he can value bet worse aces and bluff

I would call. I usually think the bet, check bet line is pretty, weak most of the time.

If you hade Axxx\KKxx in his spot would you bet the river or would you check call?

Tough spot. You pretty much capped yourself at AK here so he could be trying to exploit that but I think I tend to give credit instead of guessing in these spots until I get more hands and some reads.

I guess call but I feel like this is exactly AK a lot. Checking 2 pair+ on turn is weird, bluffing into likely trips is bad especially after turn check, smaller aces I think usually bet smaller for value/blocking.
