A couple of deepstacked .5/1 hands

Villain has been fairly aggressive in position and we are short handed, so we don't give his button 3bet too much credit due to the situation and our blockers, and as such with our double suited hand we decide to 4bet. We miss, but are definitely going to cont bet the paired board. He just calls and then the 3rd jack rolls off. We have represented AAxx, and its pretty hard for him to have the case jack - good spot for a big second barrel?

SB: $132.60 (265.2 bb)
Hero (BB): $120.83 (241.7 bb)
CO: $150.45 (300.9 bb)
BTN: $278.15 (556.3 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BB with Q A 4 K
CO folds, BTN raises to $1.50, SB raises to $5, Hero raises to $16.90, BTN folds, SB calls $11.90

Flop: ($35.70) J 9 J (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $21.50, SB calls $21.50

Turn: ($78.70) J (2 players)
SB checks

Here we have an aggressive villain, towards the loose side of things, who has check-raised twice before in situations which we either raised or 3bet preflop and cont bet. Once we laid it down straight away, and once we called and folded to a turn bet. Here we don't have the nuts or nut draw, but do have all kinds of stuff going on with a pair, an overpair, and Q high diamonds. On a 943 board when we hold a 9 and he flatted OOP, and given that we have seen him pull this move with success a couple of times, his bluff or semi-bluff range must make up a big portion of his range right? What do we do - we can't fold I don't think. Call? Then what on the turn?

1st hand: interesting preflop, but I like it to mix up your 4bet range. Flop is good, shove turn, wp. Make sure you don't take this line _too_ often though -- I think this is a great bluff line, but gotta keep it balanced.

2nd hand: We're deep enough to call flop I think, especially when he's repping so thin & does this a lot. I call (or probably bet if checked to) blank turns, raise (or bet if checked to) T, J, diamonds, probably have to fold though if he 3bets diamond turns huge.

Bet small in hand 1, call in hand 2. What else than that could you be considering?

Do we also bet small in the first hand if we have AA or the J?

    Cool, just checking

This actually brings up something I've been thinking about recently though -- if we do bet small here, like 1/2 pot, we should be bluffing 1/3 of the time. How do you guys balance that? I can only keep track of my bluffing frequency for shoves/pot sized bets.

What CZI said, checking back on hand 1 to bet river is also OK

1/4 - 1/3 pot seems like the right bet size in hand 1, call hand 2 as others already said

Re: A couple of deepstacked .5/1 hands

If we bet 1/4 pot, we have to be betting for value 5 times more often than we're bluffing. Since he hardly ever has it here I don't see why we want to be bluffing so infrequently? Or are we just assuming he's gonna fold way too often & so are willing to make our bet exploitable in order to exploit his folds?

Leverage. Your line looks very strong, and he'll have to expect you to shove a river (which you probably should do, should he call turn).
