Hey guys I just wanted to know a little bit more about calling 3bet oop.
This hand has 36% equity against 5% 3betting range, the villain here is 3betting about 5%. So we only need 33% right?
But would we want a hand stronger than 33% since we're OOP and we likely wont realize as much riv equity. We're sometimes dominated and rake also has to have a factor. Basically i'm asking what kind of equity should i be looking for when defending OOP. ex. 38%?

Those numbers aren't useful. PPT's top-5% range has a lot of big pairs and high-card hands that people don't 3-bet when they 3-bet a 5% range. Many of those hands also happen to dominate your specific holding. Against PJ's more human-like 4% (!) 3-bet range, you already have 40% equity.

To Rei's point, I seriously doubt that the hand the villain showed down is in the top 5% of hands.

edit: OO has it as a top 10% hand.
