2560x1600 (assuming Dell is) is the nuts, 1920x1080 is not, that's the difference. I'm with Spurious on "size doesnt matter, resolution does, imo."

But if you like two monitor setups and don't mind the smaller resolution on that 27", just send the Dell back. Monitors with 2560x1600 resolution cost like 2-3 times more than ~same quality monitors with 1920x1080 or 1920x1200 so if you don't think you need the higher resolution that 30" is probably not worth the extra price.

I've been looking for 2560x1600 monitors for a while but I'm too nit (= busto) to buy one since they're all like $1.5k

thanks for input. thats what i figured. not sure i need the extra resolution as this one is pretty damn clean. and even this 27 is almost too big. def big change coming from a 19 lolz. i tend to not look over at the tables on the right side lol. prob gonna stick with this one as it seems to also be a lucky monitor

anyone else in the camp that thinks you're getting robbed by purchasing from dell or another major computer company instead of compiling the parts for cheaper and either building them yourself or getting a third part to do it for cheap?

last desktop i bought would've been close to twice as much money from Dell for the same quality parts

For non-techies, refurbed Dell is fine, IMO. Just got one for < $400 when my previous comp got ****ed.

Poker clients + HEM + internet/pron + music doesn't require an especially advanced computer afaik.

^ for awhile my online bankroll was less than half the cost of my laptop, which was primarily purchased for poker. The definition of recreational player, I suppose

two widescreens in portrait is the nuts imo, 4 columns of tables and you dont have to turn your head around much, I have to say I prefer two monitors to one because the tbales can be bigger although you can fit less htat wth higher resolution... resolution doesnt matter too much when you have 2 screens aslong as it aint real ****ty...

most balller setup iom goes to:

4got whos it was but omfg looks amazing to grind on

Refurbished - like a certified used car, IMO (still bought from Dell, not some rando company/guy on the street).

I'm on my second refurb Dell - first one lasted ~3 years. 2nd one is better for cheaper.

very baller indeed. feel like my neck would hurt with all the distance to cover with my eyes tho. guess that's why horizontal computers/tvs are the standard

MtF:
Problem with making a setup like that is that most panels have way worse viewing angles in vertical angles than horizontal, so when you turn your panels like that even little sideways movement often means the colors start to look weird. Just FYI if somebody is planning to build a setup like that, make sure that the panels have very wide viewing angle.

But that does look like a great monitor setup!

Meh, I prefer to exchange the two horizontal ones in the mid with a 30', then it's a sick setup.

I was walking through this shopping centre once when this gay ass band called 'mcfly' was there meeting fans and signing cds and stuff. If you think thats bad you shoulda heard it. Can'y even describe it, maybe 1000 nails down a chalkboard mixed with the sounds of various animal rapes

warning: do not look for mcfly on the interwebs they are awful.
