Had a somewhat interesting spot in a tourney early on. I cold-call a 3bet out of the blinds w 66, thinking I have good implied odds. Flop HU.

Turn 6, I bet like half the pot and villain calls.
River T, I bet a bit less than half the pot, and villain raises (can't remember if it was allin at that point or not).

I start tanking and type "KK?". Finally I say I don't think you're valueraising anything worse and don't think you can be bluffing here either. Thinking he probably has the KK, I fold and say 66. Guy says he'll pay me $20 if I can prove I folded 66. I take a screenshot, upload it and post the link. Was actually a bit surprised he actually shipped me the 20 bucks. I'm even more convinced that he had the top set.

Other than that, nothing happening for me in the tournies once again. Especially the 13k gtd PLO. So fkn card dead and losing whenever I found a spot to flip.

Still in the 47k GTD with a really short stack in the bubble. Was chipleader early on, but haven't got any hands since then and my timing has been really off. Luckbox one time, please!

I might be stupid but I don't really get that 'on so many levels', care to explain which levels?

Edit: I'm a huge holdem donk, but coldcalling 3bets OOP with small PPs is pretty bad lol, nice fold though. Gl in the 47k

That early on his 3bet is almost a sure indicator of a big pair, and with over 10x the call amount to play afterwards it's a profitable call if I get his whole stack in whenever I flop a set, which is very probable.

Also, out of it in the bubble. Blind on blind violence shortie vs shortie. Folded to me in the SB w 7bb left and 92r. Obvious shove against a 10bb stack but he snapcalls me w K6s. I'm not too sure that's a good call on his part in the bubble. He's probably like 60% against my any2 range there, but the 40% of the time he loses he's almost sure to not cash at all, whereas when he folds, he can either fold his way into a cash if that's what's important to him, or he can still try to steal blinds with his stack or possibly doubleup when picking up a decent hand.

Whatever, think I'm done with tournaments for a while now, played so many this week with little results. I'll still play the occasional tournament every now and then, but not this much.

I dont think cold calling is that good but it depends, there is many factors too think about!

I assume a lot of other poker players, including myself, initially came to poker from gaming. I really enjoyed Starcraft etc when I was younger and nowadays I really enjoy watching Starcraft 2 games. There's a really nice website called GOMTV where they cast games quite professionally.. And nearly all of the people playing are professional SC2 gamers.

Right now they're having a Donate to Japan promotion so all games that's named "World Championship" are free to watch.

These two (same set) are really high quality matches. It's "The World" VS "South Korea" teammatch.

The cold calling hand with 66 is not good, you're definitely losing money when you do that.

The K6 is a snap call unless you have a very tight image and would be perceived to be shoving only like 22+, A2+, K9+,QT+, he's got the best hand so often and since you were about to be ITM he has a good overlay from the antes. Your shove with 92 is actually somewhat questionable given the ICM considerations and stacksizes*, I could be wrong on this and don't feel like checking, but I'm pretty sure it is better when you are both deeper like ~15bbas your fold equity increases a lot and your equity when called is going to be fairly similar vs a slightly tighter calling range as you have 92 offsuit and it sucks vs any range. ~

*unless you have a read that he is decent and will knowingly make "incorrect" folds that are +cEV but not +$EV.
