Yea, i mean, you gotta remember plo mtt's are super soft; so it could easily be a random overplaying the nfd, or a pair+lower fd. If he has a hand like 2p so many turns kill the action. Get it in!

hey guys, i'm a NL playing who is hoping to learn the basics of PLO over the next few months, hopefully i'll be posting here quite a bit.

i started a thread to record my progress if anyone's interested.

my plan for learning is to do all the things i wish i'd done while learning NLHE, so my main concern will be taking things slowly and not picking up any bad habits.

so my plan is to divide my PLO time into 2 hour sessions,definded as follows;


- 30 minutes intensive study - watching a video while taking notes,etc.

- 1 hour of play on 4 tables, marking as many hands for review as possible.

- 30 minutes post session analysis. this will mainly consist of looking through marked hands and posting as many of them as possible on various forums, and then getting involved in the subsequent discussion.


i'm starting off with SlowHabit's book and Solid State PLO on deucescracked, if anyone has any other suggestions let me know.

oh also, does anyone have any recommended PLO blogs?

they don't have to be particularly high content since i will have plenty to work through in videos and on the forums, but if there's any good blogs by players learning PLO or whatever i wouldn't mind having a few to read through so i can get an idea of the process.

i suffer from skoliosis and sometimes that leads to severe pain...but with the ikea chair i have never ever had any back aches. i love it.

The only problem I have is with the leather, it makes me either sweat more or the sweat is not properly lead off or w/e you wanna call it.

Thanks for the tip. Going to buy an office chair when I move out to go to the university. FTP had a black card survey and I asked them to add a office chair available for Euro players too. My other option was to use my points on a Finnish affiliate forum, have got a bit under 500 (1point=$1).

This is were poker has been good to me, I don't need to get that much stuff when I move out. I've got a computer, a laptop, a tv, a phone, a hard drive, a home theater, etc out of different poker promotions/affiliate shops.

Actually you might get embody a tad bit cheaper from an UK store (1kish€ inc tax) but not 100% since I didnt calculate their shipping prices just assumed ~100€

Everytime I've said +1 to Tsajajaja's posts I've thought through the line and can't think of a better way to play it. You're a winning player that does pretty well, not sure why you feel it's necessary to call out a poster that contributes as much or more than anyone else in SSPLO.

The benefit of him posting far outweighs any sort of group think that may follow. Even if I agree with his lines I always take the line I think is best given player reads, stack sizes, postiion etc.

And btw, thanks for getting in a pissing match with one of the few HS players that actually gives enough of a **** to offer strat advice to the SS players, wp.

No it's not, at least I didn't mean it that way. It's more of a compliment that he gets so much respect here. He is doing nothing wrong, he is certainly one of the top strat posters in SSPLO. That doesn't mean those "+1" posts after he posts offer any value, and I was just hoping that people would stop doing that or at least try adding something valuable to their post.

There might be some cases where benefits of different lines are somewhat clear to everyone and the thread is more like a poll which one ppl think is better and in those cases "+1ing" to express your opinion is fine, but that's not usually the case.

I really am sorry if I offended anyone, I wasn't trying to call out anyone specifically or insult anyone.

Value of both is still probably below zero... If there's a thread without a big disagreement about best line going on, "+1 to this" posts add nothing (unless u have a hot chick in ur avatar) to the thread, at least in my opinion.

I arrived on the 2nd of april in Manchester, now I have a small telephone problem

I did not extend the mobile phone contract with my old mobile phone provider in Austria...so I buyed here a pay as you go sim card but obviously it does not work cause my mobiel phone is locked

so as i said earlier, bought dell 30" online yesterday. hefty price of $1380 or something. when out shopping yesterday, frys had a sale on an LG LED 27" 1080p that looked pretty good. was $450. so i bought it. its hooked up right now and looks pretty ****ing good. can layout 12 tables with no overlap.

anyone that knows a lot about computers/monitors have any input on why i shouldnt just send the dell back? gonna use my old monitor as a side monitor for internet/pokertracker2!/porn/etc

^They have different resolutions. If you dont need the extra space on the dell (not only the 3" but the increase in resolution, ur 27 is prolly 1080p right?) then send it back, you can always get another 27.

But ppl often prefer 1x30" instead of 2x something else because it is easier, but that is up for you to decide.


E: I see you actually said it was 1080p, so yeah you can get more stuff to fit in ur 30"

Whats the resolution on the 27?

The 30 has 2560*1600 IIRC.
Unusually, size doesnt matter, resolution does, imo.
