Any opinions on me checking back top set on the river after being x/r on the flop ? Looking back I felt it was a bit nitty since I'm beat here by KQ. How often should villain be checking back the river here with the nuts against our range ?

BTN: $6.64
SB: $5.02
BB: $9.87
UTG: $7.82
Hero (MP): $22.91
CO: $12.66

Pre Flop: ($0.07) Hero is MP with 5 J A A
1 fold, Hero raises to $0.17, 3 folds, BB calls $0.12

Flop: ($0.36) J 5 T (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $0.18, BB raises to $0.65, Hero calls $0.47

Turn: ($1.66) 4 (2 players)
BB bets $1.35, Hero calls $1.35

River: ($4.36) A (2 players)
BB checks, Hero checks

As played, definitely bet river. With the Ad, your previous streets are optimistic.

I think the Ace on the river slowed him down a bit. I'd bet for value here.

Checking back means checking when you are last to act. This is a v-bet even if villain is checking KQ to you a bunch.

Eh im not crazy about a value bet here, we block a set of j and the nut flush draw, 2p and worse sets fold a decent amount of the time, that leaves kq here a decent amount, I'm ok checking back

I mean this seems like a thin value bet vs. worse sets now.

I think the flop bet is kinda crazy.
