Is it ever right to fold decent aces like AAQ4ss pre? Got it in 4 ways for a huge pot today and only had 21% equity (only ahead of a random hand). I opened, got 3 bet, then 4 bet (with a cold caller) for basically the rest of my stack getting 2.61:1 pot odds. Is this just being results oriented and this being a standard GII or am I missing something coming from NLHE? Thanks.

Usually when it's multiway All-In there's a high probability that another players also has AAxx. In that case you'd like your side cards to have better connectivity. Your gambling here, it is what it is in these situations.

Ex I stacked a player in PLO25 for 65BB last week holding AAx4ds vs AAQJss by rivering trip 4's. I just got lucky.

Normally dont fold but if there is a player infront of you that has for example cold 4bet and you know he is tight and competent anything but super premium aces can be folded as you will be an underdog to random hands since he has your good outs. This is especially true if there are others still left to act who would understand that your shove means AAxx, they will add 2 and 2 together and call of profitably.

These spots are so rare it really wont matter over time but if you want to lessen the variance a bit its not a big deal to just fold those aces in the above situation. Otherwise just ship it and move on to the next hand.

I'm really concerned about the advice here of never fold aces pre.

You raise AA23 rainbow on button, fish in SB reraises, nit who only 4-bets aces reraises in BB, another two fish call.

GTF out of there.

You do have to bear in mind that if you're AA against AA then you're a dog to a rundown and act accordingly. AATJ ds - okay fair enough I'm not folding.
