The 5 card PLO games seem pretty soft and it is easier to get action with 5 card PLO on the site I plan on. What are some resources/tips for playing the game well and improving?
Definitely good advice. Even top set isn't that good when it is bare. More cards = more positional advantage. Most of the games are HU or shorthanded though, so I have been playing pretty much any non-trips hand IP and any remotely connected hand OOP. Is this too loose? I enjoyed watching your HU play in PLO from that series on CardRunners. Thanks for the advice.

The hud likely isnt working, making it unplayable.
Less tables, higher limits might not even run.
Harder to get reads, harder to see 5 cards. Less tabling, more mistakes.
Only in stars.
Developing bad habits.
It is just one more card, the set thing is overrated, and instead it should be that a set is just a draw and there is always a str and flu is always nuts, so good bluff opportunities, building rake. The fluctuations possibly still greater. More energy spending, eg. nlh is less energy taking than plo and is faster and one makes better reads, and nlh rake is low enough to be played with no rb.
Preflop raising is supposed to be made with 5card hands.
Position might be considered still more important but might be less significant instead.
The site I play on has no HUDs and 5c PLO is one of the most played games. I don't see how it developes bad habits. On the contrary, you can learn a ton from a new game. How is position less important?
Have only played a bit of this at 100. My initial reactions are this reminds me of when I first started with PLO. I was making too many laydowns expecting everyone to have the nuts all the time.
Games often run shorthanded so noway near as much nut peddling as expected. 2 pair type hands are often good for thin value on plenty of boards, and push the point with your blockers more so than in 4card as everyone's ****ting their pants you have the nuts. Tonnes of opportunity to bluff. pretty fun game.
