How reasonable is to only 3bet hands we can hapilly call a 4bet with?

I have been reading some Jeff Hwang books, and he seems to recommend this strategy. Personally, I hate to 3bet/fold with hands I know could have a lot of potential seeing the flop (I think it even makes me tilt lol), especially in plo25 where I play with so many recreational players that make so many huge mistakes postflop.

Very unreasonable. How your hand does against a 4-bet is just one factor in the decision to 3-bet or not.

There's a whole lot of nonsense a strict policy of "only 3-bet hands you can happily call a 4-bet with" can lead to.

Its terrible. There are plenty of fish and bad regs that open way too wide (so you should 3bet a lot) but basically only 4bet AA (so you should fold to 4bet or at least unhappily call).

If you nit up your 3bet range you're just missing tons of value.

Yeah imagine deciding that your adjustment against one of those players will be to stop 3-betting Axyz or non-AA pairs unless they are the highest of the high-tier -- and to start 3-betting more weaker rundowns and non-A ds stuff, which are more comfortable calling a 4-bet against AA. It's just backwards poker, really.

If you know there is no reason to fold.

If you know people only 4 bet aces isnt it worth making the call (if deep enough) since their hand is basically face up?

Yes there are, there are mathematical reasons to fold some hands against a 4bet from a heavy AAXX range, hands wich you would love to see a flop and could do it profitably if it was singled raised or 3bet pot.

It is not enough to know villain 4bet only aces to justify a call with any hand, usually when the pot runs big preflop with regard to the money left on stacks to play postflop, it becomes a more mathematical thing.

That book is quite out of date, obviously focus on hands with good equity distribution and not low pp's which often perform terribly against 4-bets.
