100plo: well this rarely happens...

not too sure what to think of villian, only hand that stands out previously was he 4bet moderately bad AA 140bb deep and bet 1/3 pot/called off on a KJ7 flop w/ AAQ.

He has a very low cbet overall ~30-35% over a few dozen hands. So his x/c here seemed like K+gs+sidecards / J+gs+side cards

standard b/c turn?

[converted_hand][hand_history]Cake Poker, $0.50/$1 Pot Limit Omaha Cash, 3 Players
Poker Tools Powered By Holdem Manager - The Ultimate Poker Software Suite.

BB: $219.96 (220 bb)
Hero (MP2): $106.45 (106.5 bb)
CO: $145.54 (145.5 bb)

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with Q Q 8 6
Hero raises to $3, CO folds, BB raises to $9, Hero calls $6

Flop: ($18) 5 K J (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $14, BB calls $14

Turn: ($46) 3 (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $38,

as thats said, initially i was planning to b/f flop, that sound std?

I would take a free one ott. Hes prob not folding anything he called otf and 1)we might have a best hand 2)can bluff straight cards and 3)prob valuebet flushes quite confortably.

If he sees you as an aggro he might go for a c/r ott with top set/AA+fd etc, so I would just keep my options open ott.

B/f flop is good, or you can just check.

He never has top set or AA+fd. He could have top set+FD though, but that's hard to make.

I don't see why you would wanna bet/fold away all that equity on the flop, and take away your positional advantage on future streets.

I disagree with this a lot, but agree that checking flop is better thou I don't think it's a huge mistake to b/f.

id like this line of thought if i had a gs and would end up checking back flop as well w/ a gs...

maybe im way off, but his check twice is like 1pr+gs or 1pr+side cards like always (or AA looking for a blank turn)unless he paired up teh 3 imo. i feel my hands too transparent to check is it not? hes paying off a heart adn im likely behind a top pair type hand, i dont think i have enough to call a river bet UI.

i know i like checking a lot more if i can call riv bet UI, but this feels too weak to check back/give up

When you check back the flop, it doesn't mean you're giving up. It means you don't want to inflate the pot with a hand that's probably a too marginal to bet/call, but too strong to bet/fold. We benefit from seeing a turn in position.

If you betting turn to bet any river, then i like, checking turn essentially gives up the hand, Id say checking flop is your best line honestly. can set up turn bluff raise or call to reevaluate river. Id expect his range to have a tons kings in it and aaxx as well. Im not even sure if a heart hits you have the winner, alot passive types cc down with there k and even a high flush draws here.

i understand checking back flop doesnt mean giving up, im saying as played, not betting turn feels like giving up w/o just the obvious draw.

guess i felt w/o a gs we dont really have that much equity vs a x/r range, sure we have 30% v sets, eh even thats a lot, im convinced bout xb flop now, and there arent that many combos of aa+nfd to comfortably b/f
