Only a few hands into the session, no real reads on anyone but table seemed to be playing loose/passive preflop so far anyway. 4 handed game.

Preflop: I am OTB with A88Q
1st player limps, I limp, and blinds come in.

Flop: ($.16): 9K8.
Action checks to me and I pot it. Only the BB calls.

Flop: ($.48): J
BB checks, I pot, BB now shoves for $1.92 total, I sigh and call.

Thoughts on all streets welcome. Almost checked behind the turn given the J came off but figured it would have been a gutshot that came in so I bet it and was putting him on a likely 2 pair hand or top pair + redraw hand that I could extract value against.

Turn is a very clear bet and call against a shove. You have well upwards of 40% equity against straights.

You shouldn't even be upset over getting shoved on OTT. Your hand is like flipping against the nuts.

I think you should think over your sizings a bit. Betting pot every time you like your hand is not a good strategy over-all

I'de isoraise pre but fine as played i guess.

OTT you have 44% vs random QT in worst case you have 22.5%.
Once you bet you have the odds to call it off.

Thanks all. I guess I was being a bit results oriented as BB had Q♣J♣J♠9♣ and the river bricked off. I did consider raising preflop but at this level the blinds call 2 raises cold a lot so I don't think I'd really be able to get it heads up against the limper a lot of times. Also if I were playing at a higher level I'd vary my bet sizes more but I don't think my opponents here are really putting me on a hand when I'm betting the pot and rather just playing fit or fold poker.
