Stevens, Katz and Newey came across like douches imo, also isn't DN's hand vs Trickett the same slowroll as he berated Hellmuth for in The Big Game, jezz.

Whoa, what about DNegs flush call with K high after an AI and then call by AE? With 2nd nut flush? He was correct though.

Also,

Was Renkemeier the guy who told JRB the famous bye-bye-you lose video guy?

Wow Antonio was in great shape to make the final table again. All it took was a couple of all ins by that 23 year old to frustrate him. After that he decides to donk all his chips with a couple of ace rag hands...

Then again it is televised, so we dont get to see all the hands

So Katz is the CEO of a student loan corporation and has ****loads of money because of it? Making so much money off of poor college kids to the degree that he can play a 1 Mil buyin without caring much is kinda sad imo. I`m not American obviously - how does this usually work? Do the students at least get a better than market interest rate or are they being exploited and have to pay back forever unless they hit a home run on the job market afterwards? Not sure why, but seeing this rubs me the wrong way, but obviously could be off the mark here. Any explanations are appreciated.

The US student loan system for education is a complete fraud with limits on being able to discharge them in bankruptcy and tuition rates higher than anywhere in the world (thereby sticking you with a huge debt you can't repay or discharge because you can't get a job with your crappy degree). Here is a short explanation of its failings http://armstrongeconomics.com/2014/0...-of-education/

Newey's one of the good guys

Also Hellmuth was put all in on the flop, in a cash game, vs an amateur with trip 9s top kicker

Negreanu had to call an all in on the river, in a million dollar tournament, vs a good player with trip 9s not top kicker

there are some differences that allowed him to take a minute and think about it.

Also the way he handles himself on the AK vs AQ hand vs Galfond otr when he hits 2 pair, he makes it a big deal like he just came from behind or that his "trap" work, just lol, like nonsimplesimon said; the chain and plz could he button his shirt, way too douchey imho.

At one point 'those plucky amateurs' were ganging up on Vogelsang, "teaching the pros a lesson."

Vogelsang
vs
Hall-Katz-Steven-Kaplan

How did that work out for them?

It was kinda nitty, but yeah overall J9 isn't beating a whole lot of value hands there and Trickett played it weird with the 3bet pre and then checking back the 9 high flop. Also consider it's a million dollar tournament and it was for most of DNs stack, I don't fault him for taking a couple seconds.

he is talking about WSOP ONE DROP that aired on ESPN on August 6th, but was played live in RIO, LAS VEGAS at the end of July where 42 entrants entered for $1M each.

From the ESPN broadcasts- it seemed to me that Antonio played scared, then when he was getting short on chips- he tried to overcompensate and played too aggressively.
