Well, there are A LOT of them, almost whole 2007 final table was absolutely ridiculous for instance, if you watch it you can see Jerry Yang constantly opening for like 5 - 7 BBs there, Phillip Hilm calling such raises with KQo and 58s out of position, Lee Childs raise/folding QQ on like 7 6 2r for about 40% of his stack, Raymond Rahme also opening JJ for like 8 BBs and later on shoving KK on Axx as a big stack etc. etc. etc.

Apart from that, the worst comibnation of famous & bad probably have Jamie Gold, Darvin Moon and Dennis Phillips (still laughing at that AK hand vs Demidov)

This. I stumbled across the 2007 FT again the other day and my god... You'd honestly expect a higher quality from a 10$ home game in 1990.

I still dont understand how come it was exactly Dennis Phillips who got all the attention besides Eastgate though, like being on HSP and National Heads-up and all these shows, I remember only like 4 more people from that year's table but each one of that four was better than Phillips BY FAR.

phillips has done a great job marketing himself. went hard during the break. has his own radio show. is a very likable guy and "everyday american" that the general public can relate to.

Oh cmon, people should stop that already, the fact that someone luckboxes a lot does not mean he is terrible, those small pair re-shoves were not THAT bad, in fact, they might have been good.

Yeah but they weren't.

I am not sure if we can judge that by watching just those few hands, I mean what idea do we have of Saout's 3bet range 4-handed (or how many were left at that point) ?

No idea, but he was just COMPLETELY wrong every time he made those re-shoves. I get the whole results orientated shizz but a great or even very good poker player wouldn't continuously miss read his opponents by such a margin.

Cada doesn't deserve to be classed with the terrible main event players, I just don't think he's particularly good.

Well, what does that even mean "completely" wrong? Like if Saout had AQ instead of QQ, Cada would have been a bit less wrong because that is a flip instead of being dominated or smth? You know it does not work like that.

He just happened to run to the top of opponent's range 3 times out of 3, big deal. Maybe those shoves were indeed bad, maybe there were not, but it was not definitely like he was donking those chips away or smth.

Based on Final Table performance- Darvin Moon

Dude didn't make one good play the whole FT and still got 2nd... he just sucked out on Ivey and Begleiter i think...
and even pre Final Table, he just ran hot as ****, i think he ran better than anyone ever has in the history of the ME... i even like the guy and would have loved to see him win except for Ivey on this FT- but still i think he was the personification of a fish on a heater...

Jerry Yang was bad, but I think he recognized that and employed an appropriate strategy for his skill level.

OK for the 22 shove against Saout since Saout was apparently 3betting a lot, but the 33 shove in like 7 handed against Schulman (the guy coached by Hellmuth, i think it was Barry Schulman) against his open UTG +1 (or maybe even UTG) for something like 20BB was horrible.
But yeah Schulman tanked with JJ so he might have folded a lot, but since his opening range was like 77+,AT+ ((im kidding, but just a bit), maybe he was folding 77 and 88, and AT-AJ out of these and calling 99+,AQ+) he wasn't folding that much (like it's not a wise idea to 3bet light someone who opens only AA )

Eeek thats terrible from Candio. He had around 50 BB left after Cheong moves in. I mean I guess he can put him on AK of clubs... but wow ya that's bad.

I don't view Darvin Moon as bad at all. He ran very good, and played within himself. I think there were worse amateurs other than Darvin to FT. He was just TAG nit/unpredictable which worked for him. Also, I think Jamie Gold and Raymer 2004 ran better than Darvin did. None of those 3 are the worst player to FT the ME tho.

Begleiter certainly looks like the worst. LOL was hoping he was going to call off with the K10 so I could slam dunk it. Darn.
