This has to be the best poker show on TV ever. The Loose Cannon is a great idea. Plus whoever has been choosing the players is doing a great job! Then they put Stapes in as the cherry on top! Long live the big game!

I also really like the "Behind the Poker Face" segments.
I also appreciate that Mercier doesn't re-write history* when he does his. It sounds like he really tells what he was thinking and is honest when he admits he misread Prahlad's range.
* a lot of these guys seem to revise history when they sit down in front of the camera after the fact
thanks for not doing that, Jason

The Big Game will never be as good as HSP imo.

I don't know about that. In the first season of TBG we had more epic moments than a typical HSP season:
1. Wiggins suck-out over PH
2. Tony G needling of PH
3. Viffer bluff
4. The whole of last 2 episode.

Sometimes players make a continuation bet without having a hand or a draw. I felt that Rose elucidated the play for those viewers who aren't 2p2ers. What is your point, Rich?

Kinda somewhat jealous that some people just have that quick witty mind. Stapes definitely has some gold zingers. You born with witty talent or you have to practice that ****? I'd succeed much more in life if I can make people around me laugh.

Sick of hellmuth to be honest.Im happy stern got to him in the second last episode.Like its an easy fold on the turn and river in that hand with qq v kk.He convinces himself that the other guy has him beat even though it is pretty obvious and as he convinces himself that the other guy has the best hand he still thinks about calling, all while the cameras are on him.Its just complete attention seeking, hes got a serious problem.
Hellmuth beats nothing here,on the flop and turn the only thing that phil beats is 910 and q10 of hearts ,besides that phil has to fold his middle pair on a paired board. Its not even funny anymore. The funny thing is that he thinks for ages knowing the cameras are on him.Hes telling the table hes beats cos this guy got so lucky on him but yet he still wont fold for about 10 minutes.but yet he sucks out on the poor loose canon, calling with a gut shot on the flop and hits runner runner to crush the lc soul, hes doesnt say anything after that hand but yet if it was the other way around the house wud have came down and later on he berates stern for sucking out just like he did to the loose cannon.but the sad thing is all along is that phil always had the worst hand.

He just sucked at poker, but there's no way he would fold to Viffer's bluff, for example (nor would Viffer try it on him), he bet when he thought he had hands, he was willing to put money in the pot, he just had no clue how to do it.

This is exactly why I say Troy and Ernest were much worse than Andre. People might've forgotten but after Ernest won that big pot, and clearly decided to nit it up, he was STILL limp-folding.
If you want to keep playing then play and if you want to nit then fold to a nice win but that just blew my mind. I mean, what was he thinking, it was gonna be limp/folded around and he was gonna flop top boat or quads and get paid with his AJs?

You're thinking of somebody winning a pot and saying "TY for the maneyz fish" or the like. (something like Tony G, although he's such a spectacle I don't he qualifies) That's being a bad winner. Ansky just responded to a direct insult, and his initial response included this, something like "O well since we're gonna start the personal insults."
I'm pretty obsessive when I watch TV/movies, I constantly pause and rewind to make sure I catch EVERYthing, and even then rewatch some parts just cuz I enjoyed them. So I don't say this as a troll, I literally think many of you guys are actually misremembering what happened.

Just using fancy poker lingo doesn't mean you know what you're talking about Stapes but he's funny so he gets a pass.
Pretty decent week overall.

He means he called the 3bet pre (4bet if you call the straddle the first raise, which it technically is, though it's common practice not to do this) in position and the had the option to bet when it was checked to him on the flop; this is not the definition of a c-bet.
