Ha ha. Yesterday I deleted unwatched the most recent week of new PAD episodes. I'll watch PAD cash games, but TBG is a million times better than the S&Gs.

They need better loose cannons, I'm having a hard time believing this dude scored in the top 20% of any tournament. Shoot out donkament or not.

They really need to fire the person picking cannons, and they need to ban the straddle.

All I wished about this week was when the loose cannon got knocked out they should have brought in Viffer, now him and hellmuth have so much history in such a short time then with Dani, I think Hellmuth would have cried.
Dani was right in not taking sht off PH, PH thinks that if he says he knows he is being a AH it is ok for him to be a AH, talk about a guy not having a clue.
When will these shows finally stop putting him on TV, he is not skilled in cash at all, will lose 9 out 0f 10 times with these guys. Someone please start a petition to take Phil off TV.

Right. His ranting about a bad beat is like one of us having a tantrum because of a little rain.

When Max Matusow was at Phil's home, he said something to his wife. She replied, "He's not my patient." Phil needs counseling from a disinterested party.

She's probably given him the name of a psychiatrist. He has tried spas, yoga, etc. I surmise that part of his problem is that he doesn't want to go to a psychiatrist – for emotional reasons.

someone has to lose - why not have it be someone that does it in a way that's good for TV?
If he truly isn't skilled?: Why WOULDN'T they invite him to EVERY cash game? DUCY?

LOL @ anyone thinking that they seriously understand the mental/emotional status of someone else they "know" from TV.

Note: if you know PH and his wife personally AND you are a mental health professional, I apologize in advance.

It's really an amazing concept. Someone thought it'd make a better show if an unknown player (let's call him a loose cannon) would be added to the mix of world-class players.

i dont mind the LC's sucking at poker. although they should tyr and get some good ones n there some percentage of the time just to show that amateurs can sometimes win at poker. the real problem is when they have a bad player in there and their personality is also boring/bad. capella was an awful, awful player, but i was initially psyched to hear some of his stories about car racing. unfortunately, this never really happened. "rapper"/producer dude was an awful player....and unfortunately seemed to have some chip on his shoulder and a need to act all big and bad, which came across as insincere and cringeworthy. wiggins was awful, and although he seemed like a nice enough guy, i cant really say there was anything compelling about him....

either get good players or get people who have much more compelling back stories, and make sure they can talk about themselves. and make sure the pros who are playing are instructed to try and get some stories out of them here and there.

You don't owe me an apology. I don't satisfy even one of the criteria you've mentioned.

Actually, though, if you reread my post, you'll see that I didn't say anything to indicate that I "seriously understand the mental/emotional status" of Phil. Although I claimed that he has emotional problems, I gave no indication of what those problems are. But it's easy to think that someone who frequently behaves as he does (throwing chairs, or sulking in a corner in a fetal position) about everyday matters (such as a bad beat) has emotional problems. DUCY?

It airs at 1:30 a.m. here. The first batch of shows were in standard def, but the second three weeks were in hi-def.

this + 1000

also: and when can Phil get a good NLHE coach?(i mean seriously hes really way too bad)

Of course, you are correct. And I don't want to derail the thread or argue semantics.

Although I claimed that he has emotional problems, I gave no indication of that those problems are.

My comments are directed at the veracity of your "claim" regardless of their root.

But it's easy to think that someone who frequently behaves as he does (throwing chairs, or sulking in a corner in a fetal position) about everyday matters (such as a bad beat) has emotional problems. DUCY?

Making sweeping generalizations about people we don't know based on a public persona (likely an act) has significant short-comings DUCY?
I think PH acts like a baby too. I also love when he gets dealt pain. It is meant to entertain me and it does.

I also like sucking out on my brothers and felting them...It's like when Esfandiari takes a pot off Laak and taunts him, "Mmmmm, Phil Laak money, that is sweet...do you know how hard it is to get Phil Laak money?"

Antonio dissects a hand vs. Laak from HAP Season 3? - poker-pain is entertaining, real or perceived

I should have said "based on what I've seen on TV so far this week". I made my first statement after watching the first episode or maybe part of the second. After watching the 1% conversation Stern acted with much more class.
