Would like to hear the phrases "young gun" and "internet whiz kid" used more often to describe certain players. TV poker announcers just don't use them enough....

Ansky was right when arguing with Hellmuth. Hellmuth started it.

Dont dish it if you cant take it.

Offtopic- Can anyone give me a link to Anskys blog if he still keeps one?

EXAMPLE TIME!!!!!
I recall discussing implied odds with some poker buddies (some serious and some "just for fun players") maybe 18 months ago. Just last week one of them approached me on my opinion on the concept of "pot odds and pricing." He was a part of the aforementioned conversation.
I love commentators
BUT i really hate this stats and educative alaysis, really pises me off, since a reandom fish might decide to go on the internet and read an article about "implied odds"

Should be like Kaplan - "now, he probably gonna raise, to see where is at"

I really don't like kaplan's commentary at all... but that's irrelevant

Anywho, I still maintain that the people who look up pot odds because they heard stapes say it are the same that would do it b/c they saw it on a forum. Most people that hear "reverse implied odds" and were completely ignorant to it will remain so or, if they do read on it, not know how to apply it.

Am I the only one here wondering when this is going to be broadcast in HD? PAD looks great in HD, and the WSOP looks crisp with their new graphics. TBG just looks cheap in standard def.
I understand with HSP, as GSN doesn't have an HD channel afaik, but FOX should be pumping this up!

Phil Hellmuth is a ****ing dumbass...

He starts **** with ansky cause he can't handle losing, and accepting the fact that he made an absolutely ATROCIOUS call on the 4straight board vs him... f'ing terrible call, and so now hes upset and talks **** to Dani trying to get HIM to say he is ALSO out of line along with him, when in fact only PH was out of line.

I'm tired of phil hellmuth acting like a damn 2 year old when he loses... and i dunno if its just me, but his antics at the table are SOOOOOOOOOOO ***** annoying... his comments about his betting actions/hands throughout the play of the hand.

and to top it all off, while this debacle is going on, PH then MAKES A COMMENT ABOUT A $5 TIP dani made... if you didn't think he was out of line from their argument above, this is INSANELY out of line now... Besides the fact of how disrespectful and unbelievable this is, DN and several others CONSISTENTLY tip 1 red $5 chip when they rake in pots... yes, big pots too.. and regardless of wether or not dani tipped $5 on the big pot he won or not, this is wwwwway out of line and really messed up. Not even surprised it comes from hellmuth, guy lives on a pedestal and literally is the poker b!tch baby when things dont go his way.. so he calls Dani out, and throws in some red chips "for" him... crossing the line yet again.

thankfully for himself he tried to cover this up later, saying "im gunna buy you a bottle of Dom" - great phil, buy him a bottle of dom and we'll forget how classless, disrespectful, and out of line you were tonight, no problem. Just goes right along with him being an adult baby, thinking he can make something right by paying for something..

anyways, done ranting. Really tired of PH's bull****, but it does make the show entertaining, it just bothers me that hes trying to make someone else look bad that did absolutely nothing wrong.

heres hoping Dani keeps winning and PH goes busto on yet another televised cash game....

in the course of this thread and show Ive been annoyed with Anskys needling, appreciated his explanation of the hands being edited and perhaps not showing Phil needling back and jumping on Anskys nuts for how he handled Phil after Phil tried to berate him.

Grunch, Ep 4, 15 mins in:

To each his own still, but I don't fully understand how anybody can't like or at least appreciate Ansky's behavior. THIS is exactly what i've been waiting to see in regards to PH, somebody giving it right back without blowing up. Even the guys that abuse Phil do it in a ludicrous and over-the-top fashion (Tony G) which ultimately takes out a bunch of the sting. I've never seen somebody respond to him with such... accuracy. It's pretty refreshing.

Edit: OMG 22 mins in... This is amazing. People throw that around all the time, even me, but I AM genuinely amazed. I subtract 1/10 a point for saying 'perfect universe' and not 'perfect world', but still awesome.

Phil was out of line, but he admitted it. But Stern is as much to blame because he keeps talking back about it and keeps the argument going. A normal guy would just say "ok maybe I was out of line too, can we just drop it" but he stubbornly keeps arguing he said nothing wrong. Just like a nerd, proving you are right is much more important to him than to manage and control the table atmosphere.

I dunno about u guys but after I act like a classless moron and call out someone's '5 dollar tip' and insult them, I like to announce to the table(on TV) that I'll be buying that person a bottle of Dom to make myself feel better about myself.

Or just try and look cool on national TV and not the douche that i really am rather then apologizing in private after the show.

Guess who i am

Clue: i suck at poker but think i'm the greatest to ever live.

Edit: This is a Grunch btw

I might get flamed for this, and I hate some of Phil's antics as much as everyone else here, but I think Ansky needed to consider the situation more before deciding to attack Phil here. He just won a huge pot (maybe the biggest of the session) off of Phil. I'm of the opinion that the person who is stuck gets to win the arguments.

If Ansky said the exact same things on day 2 instead of day 4 (like maybe after Hellmuth's gigantic suckout on the loose cannon) it woulda been perfectly fine and I would applaud him for it. But I just don't think he should say those types of things when he's up $160,000 and just won a huge pot off of Phil. It just comes off in the wrong way and makes it look like he's rubbing it in Phil's face rather than just giving back what he has given to other people.

Stern can't argue for ****. "You kidding me?" "Are you kidding me?" "ARE YOU KIDDING ME?" was pretty lame sounding, he gets more mileage out of just smirking. Just my opinion though, it sounds like some of you guys ate it up.
