I think he would more than half the time.
i'm pretty sure he wasnt talking regarding preflop, but rather the flop. i think ansky checks back any J almost all K's because Phil tends to check and slowplay all his strong hands on the flop in 3bet pots. as bad as it might seem PH checks AA, AK, JJ and KK a lot on that board to "tarp" so ansky would be valueowning himself.
also ansky is betting openenders and gutshots (AQ,Q10) aswell as KJ+ on the flop.

the more i think of it i might just call in Phil's spot on the river because Ansky's range is so narrow in taking that line (bet, bet, shove) against Phil's perceived range. only KJ, JJ and KK beat him basically where JJ is fairly unlikely and KK 4bets pre a lot

IT's generally a suicide bluff in ansky's spot tho, considering how strong PH's range is to c/c twicce and that he was tilted. PH also tanked forever with the bottom of his range, which isn't good if you're trying to bluff him

Few funny things.

The QQ hand hellmuth was literally thinking for more than 10 minutes, they obviously edited it down. Daniel and Phil were also talking about whether or not I had AJ for about 15 minutes after the hand, which is why we all exploded laughing when Daniel said "what if he really had AJ." Also, Daniel is referring to the post flop action when he said I couldn't have it, definitely.

If the flop had come QJ8 instead of KJ8 ,would you have bet KK into his trup QQ ?

"rapper"/producer dude was an awful player....and unfortunately seemed to have some chip on his shoulder and a need to act all big and bad, which came across as insincere and cringeworthy. wiggins was awful, and although he seemed like a nice enough guy, i cant really say there was anything compelling about him....

either get good players or get people who have much more compelling back stories, and make sure they can talk about themselves. and make sure the pros who are playing are instructed to try and get some stories out of them here and there.
Are these the best LC's they can find from the over 5000 videos they have received?

Wait, Wat? I thought that they had to win in this goofy freeroll-step system to get on? They can't be just selecting from videos?

Step 1. Finish in the top 6% out of abut 5000 players in a Level 1 freeroll.

Step 2. Finish in about the top 15% out of abut 7000 players in a Level 2 freeroll.

Step 3. Finish in about the top 20% out of abut 1000 players in a Level 3 freeroll.

Step 4. Upload an audition video.

Step 5. Hope that you are selected, from the pool of video auditioners, to play in the Big Game TV show.

Players who qualify through the freerolls are eligible to submit the videos.

A relatively small number of videos were received in time to be considered for the recording of the first season. There were many more videos to consider for the second season.

You forgot maybe the most important step:

Step 6. Be part of a demographic that the PC bean counters who manage TV shows are trying to promote this week.

These LC's are facking awful. Can't they at least try to get someone, of whatever demographic, who has both intelligence and personality? Is that such a rare combination these days?

I'm trying to get on the show. I've qualified for the audition video twice, as many of you are tired of hearing about. I can play, I'm not at all intimidated, but I also don't believe that I'm better than the Big Game pros. I also don't "grind harder than the Big Game pros," as one LC said.

I'm pretty bright and I welcome anyone who wants to talk tough at the poker table on TV because I won't be hurt by it, and I'll just reply softly in such a way to make the instigator look worse than he did before he said something. I also won't be distracted from the game by anything that's said.

I'll try to qualify for the audition video for the third time. Maybe the third time will be the charm? It's not easy. But it's not incredibly tough either. Qualifying just takes skill, determination, and a lot of patience.

I look at the poker table in the Big Game as a level playing field. I can communicate with anyone on any level, and I look forward to competing in the game of poker as an equal as well.

That's my verbal audition for you, PokerStars Steve (or anyone else from PokerStars). If I get on the show, I'll even give a shout out to the gang at 2+2.

Now, when you qualify, you're sent an e-mail with instructions to upload a video to:

and the videos are not shown publicly.

Is there anything preventing you from putting them on youtube? Just curious, I'd be interested in watching and maybe you could get some support there too.

DN should really just F right off.

He was talking to the old guy like he was a semi-******ed non English speaker or something.

The old guy did suck but f hell he did run bad. However you can see what Stars is getting at. Each week we've had a radically different LC. (Well except for Will Davis and Aaron Jensen who were the same white nerd) They obviously want pokerstars to appeal to every age, colour, sex, creed, sexual orientation and so on.

Hard to believe what a creep Daniel Negreanu is though. Someone pointed out above that they would have liked to hear more about the old guy digging for gold and winning races. Well I think Andre came with full intention of entertaining the viewer with such stories but as soon as he started to spin a yarn in popped Daniel (when he realised he mightn't be the centre of attention with his "wacky" quips and "crazy" personality), belittled him and made sure the cameras were back on him.

I think the LC shut down then. The guy has led a very interesting life, certainly more so than luckboxing a few donkaments over 6 years ago while going to great lengths to make everyone think you're a little bit crazy.

He didn't run THAT bad.
For all I remember maybe that Stern had with K10 vs KQ was pretty bad.
But the rest of them he pretty allowed people to catch up with super small bets and then paid off people when he wasn't beating anything.

So losing with JJ v J8 to running 8s isn't bad, regardless of bet sizes?

His call on the river was fine too imo. As played Hellmuth either had air(busted flush) or hit running 8s.

good point by you

I'm pretty sure that after the first tourny Pokerstars is abusing the word "freeroll" as freeroll to me means anybody can enter with no fees or qualifications. Amirite?

Please don't choose this slowrollin byatch-But I would hit it!

This is the kinda LC I think would be fun to watch (if he held true to his talk). Perused youtube for a few minutes, this was best example imo:
