I know the concept but I just can't understand why people would want to watch an old man who couldnt beat 2NL online.....even amateurs watching at home must be able to recognise that this guy is terrible

This, and maybe it was like 9 hours or something of actual play, but I was there for probably close to 12.

Negreanu is a short, balding, insecure Canadian Punk. I hate his guts

I have a couple of questions for you.

Where in Las Vegas is the production set? I don't remember them mentioning a specific hotel, like the other shows. I assume it's just a soundstage somewhere.

How many days does the shoot take? Or is it one day, and to maintain the illusion of a nightly show does everyone pretend it's the next day with each show?

Not sure how well you knew the other players prior to the show. What, if any, different opinions of personality or play do you have, that you didn't have prior to the show.

Thanks

What's Canadian have to do with anything? Sorry, but you're the one who sounds insecure!

This....but in the guys defense its hard not to be a douche when you are very successful at a very young age ....Hellmuth was 100x the douche at 23 ...and still is......I'm pretty sure Stern is cringing as he watches himself....So its a good learning experience for him, and he will probably tone it down next time he is on TV....

Watching this episode tonight was particularly painful, I mean how in the world did the LC qualify when he clearly is just a timid, terrible poker player? Hand between Dani and Eugene was good though, and I had to laugh considering DN is like 5'6" 140 and has a gut.

It's certainly fine to banter back and forth. However, Hellmuth is doing it with a smile on his face, while ansky is doing it looking like he's insulted to have to be sitting in the same room with this thing that is so far beneath him. Check his expression after Hellmuth says something like "no one ever questioned my heart or my guts" at 7:48 or the tone where after Hellmuth says some dude gave him a buddha where ansky says "so you're old school, so you believe in things like that (shakes head and covers eyes)".

You can't just host a poker game for real money in Nevada without having a gaming license. Someone mentioned that they saw "Sands Casino" on the rim of the poker chips in a closeup. I would guess that they filmed it on their premises.

I am pretty sure it's a one day thing. Usually players are instructed to refer to yesterday and a few days ago when in reality it was a few hours ago. They all wear the same clothes the whole show anyway.

Sorry if this has already been discussed but, what are your opinions on the quality of the commentators? How good are they calling the plays, strat, and the meta game?

sick lineup
extremely fun to watch so far
I absolutely love this line up: Fish who has no clue but knows rules of the game, 3 great poker players and cool young guys, guy trying sick hard for TV or Amanda, and a guy who can dodge bullets (so far so good btw)

go Big game, really cool - comentators, game dynamics, format of the game, players chosen, tabletalk.
Fantastic TV show. imo obv

It'd be really interesting getting a younger internet player on, it could theoretically start a televised poker career for somebody. Will Davis was sort of in this mould but obviously not young enough. I think a younger guy would appeal to an audience pretty well also.

Get it done PokerStars Steve.

I really like Hellmuth's attitude this week. I think if he acted/played like this more often he'd have a lot more supporters.

As for the LC, it's so sad it's hard ot actually mock the guy. I'll just say he's terrible and then leave it at that. I'm hoping he hurries up and busts so a pro can come in and replace him.

I truly hate all the players at this table. They're extremely arrogant, and dare I say, downright evil for forcing me to endure them through more than 40 minutes!

Spoiler:
THE HUMANITY!
