As I mentioned in my blog, the target audience is NOT 2+2ers AT ALL. I get that you guys like to see "real poker" like HSP, but this is for a very different audience and that's why the show was purposely done in such a way that it had a game show feel.

We have the right kind of celebrities for a football Sunday with John Salley, Jerome Bettis, Tito Ortiz, and Jayde Nichol for the first batch of shows. They are channel stoppers, people see them and go, "Huh, what is this?" and then watch for a bit.

The target audience would prefer watching this show over a PAD or HSP. Those shows are more geared towards you guys, real poker players, while our show hits the demographic of beginning players in a fun/exciting way.

The edited show was much better than I could have ever hoped. I don't expect you guys to like it, I get it. While you might not enjoy the show, you'd be shortsighted in thinking that certain people will really enjoy it.
Thanks for your input on this, Daniel.

I'm not a fan of FTA, and this show seems to be following the same footsteps. But like you said, it's not directed towards us. Take a look at the above posts, there are many first time posters posting here. That's an indication to me that it's getting someones attention.

I'm not sure why all the hate towards this show. What more could poker players ask for, but having a bunch of new results oriented recruits that will sit at a full ring game, and think it's OK to push it all in with K7 off

I'll watch it again for sure. I'm not all that excited about it, or anything, but I enjoy watching DN (and yeah, the hostess is pretty hot.)

I can see the logic in wanting to tap into the biggest sports gambling mecca, being the NFL.

As a sports fan and fantasy football player,I would much rather watch replays and commentary about the games.
Kind of sick of tuning in to my sports channels to find a poker show filling the time slot.

Any way to watch this online? Yeah yeah I get it, horrible show, you don't want to. But seriously. Can you watch it online somewhere?

During my 18 hour slumber I missed it obviously.

Since it airs on FOX, it'll probably be on Hulu.

I watched about 20 minutes or so and it was just plain painful. It's a bazillion times better then face teh ace but that's not saying much.

This.

Any way I can get into the priest's and his pupils homegame? I'm pretty sure the fetus is the best player in the group.

Calling this better than Face the Ace is a joke. It's just a Face the Ace ripoff and they added in a bunch of extra gimmicks. It's still painful to watch.

WHAT KIND OF THINGS YOU LIKE TO DO FOR FUN VANESSA?

the only thing that could save it is Barry doing Bing BLANG BLAOW. KEKEKE.

I like the set-up of this show much better than Face The Ace, it's got a better structure than Face The Ace does, but this first episode was just...look, I'm not a religious person at all. That being said, the first contestant made it seem super hokey. I was kind of offended by all the God referencing. Maybe I'm too sensitive.

Danny's great and I like Chris Rose, but in the intro, the writer's kind of screw him. He has to give the set up of "One hand...one card...one chance to change a life forever..." -- pretty misleading. Whoever wrote that horrible tag line makes it sound like they only play one hand!

Anyways, I look forward to seeing the next one to figure out what I really think of the show.

Daniel, I enjoyed the show and so did some friends at PS. I thought your nice guy poker approach with the holy man was charming for the first episode. I think it will gain some new players to PS, which truly is the bottom line.

I just wish you could do something about us in the SE coastal areas that can't see the show until midnight, too late to enjoy the MDC 20k Freeroll ... perhaps they could do a 15 second spot right before the football games start or during a break with the password? Just a thought.

Otherwise, our fellow forum posters help us out, which makes me feel a little guilty of something or other.

And I can't believe the RN_ went for the split. She had 42m and the other two had 1.2m and about 2.7m. The other two were calling for the split over and over and she was going for it. I think with that much of a difference in stacks & with BB being 650k, she had to be a very kind person or knew the other two players. I would like to think I would have been the same way, but with the economy the way it is, I believe I'd have said lets keep the chips flyin', boys ... she would have left with 20k instead of 8k.

Notice that Vanessa came out chewing gum? And what is that thing on here head? She's a good looking girl, but they did the best they could to make her look like trash to me.

I think the show was pretty good. Basically the same as Face The Ace but with a few gimmicks as people have already mentioned. Wasn't too keen on all the God/Jesus references but they won't be in every show.

I enjoyed the show, even though i think the defenders weren't trying " that hard " to win.
Probably it was rigged for the priest to go though.

He said his suckout was proof that God existed. I know John Salley played for the Bad Boys, but damn, does God hate him that much? I'd f-ckin hate to see Bill Laimbeer's luck at poker.

Daniel said the show was edited. I figured it was short stacked. Maybe it was both. Either way I thought it was a decent show. Some interesting hands, whether it was the priest making a good fold against Salley's jacks, Daniel convincing the priest to call on the river against the nuts, whatever. Entertaining show and I'm glad PokerStars made it to national TV.

If it brings more players into are game then rock on.Did anyone here love Who wants to be a millionaire. That's what I thought.I still remember it doing very well for a little while. If we get .5 percent more players, that works for me.I'm not overly impressed with the show but I can at least I see where there going with it.I think It will do better then Face the ace but I'll stick to PAD and HSP for my personal enjoyment.
Daniel did a good job with helping People see that were not gun toting bandits. He made us look fun to play with and not that were just out to take peoples money. In the end it's not going to hurt us so I say Good luck with it.
