As I mentioned in my blog, the target audience is NOT 2+2ers AT ALL. I get that you guys like to see "real poker" like HSP, but this is for a very different audience and that's why the show was purposely done in such a way that it had a game show feel.
We have the right kind of celebrities for a football Sunday with John Salley, Jerome Bettis, Tito Ortiz, and Jayde Nichol for the first batch of shows. They are channel stoppers, people see them and go, "Huh, what is this?" and then watch for a bit.
The target audience would prefer watching this show over a PAD or HSP. Those shows are more geared towards you guys, real poker players, while our show hits the demographic of beginning players in a fun/exciting way.
The edited show was much better than I could have ever hoped. I don't expect you guys to like it, I get it. While you might not enjoy the show, you'd be shortsighted in thinking that certain people will really enjoy it.
Thanks for your input on this, Daniel.
I'm not a fan of FTA, and this show seems to be following the same footsteps. But like you said, it's not directed towards us. Take a look at the above posts, there are many first time posters posting here. That's an indication to me that it's getting someones attention.
I'm not sure why all the hate towards this show. What more could poker players ask for, but having a bunch of new results oriented recruits that will sit at a full ring game, and think it's OK to push it all in with K7 off
I'll watch it again for sure. I'm not all that excited about it, or anything, but I enjoy watching DN (and yeah, the hostess is pretty hot.)
