half the posters in here probably have some weird fantasy where they defend courtney and she thanks them via PM and they strike up a conversation and eventually meet and fall in love forever after

if she was a guy she'd be getting trashed

I'm not interested in Courtney, and she's not interested in me. In fact, I've been quite critical of her play.

However, I think it's fair to say that she has been getting trashed. Which is okay, gender equality and all that.

However, some of the trashing has been intensely personal, to the point where it seems like some are unleashing misogynistic anger. It's just not necessary.

To me it was important that somebody opened her eyes about the fact that she came over as arrogant, narcissistic, and snotty.

Many women really dont realize stuff like that bc, like in this thread, people take it easy on them bc they feel the need to play the protective superhero-role, fantasize about getting romantic with them etc...

Look at the Huggins-thread. Look how he gets the sxxx there and nobody cares bc they dont want to fxxx him...

You are all a bunch of hypocrites in my eyes, if she wasnt a woman and if she didnt come here bc she needs the attention, you would all be trashing her, fact.

Re: Pokerstars Big Game Season 2 Week 2 (July 4 12pm ET, 6pm BST on PokerStars.tv)

I take it easy on her because she's an amateur (who I guess has had some pretty good results btw..) who said nothing more than she aspires to do more. She didn't say she was a pro. She didn't say she was better than all the pros and just needed some starting money to have a chance. She just said she liked poker and was hoping to try to do more with it if Big Game ended up being a spring board. Why are you so against that?

Also, she got it in as a huge favorite for a very nice chunk of change for a "regular person", got sucked out on, and took it all in stride. Why shouldn't she get some sympathy for that? How on Earth you can attack her character based on what she did on that show is beyond me. I don't completely agree with a lot of things being posted about her play but I mean it's a public forum it's cool. The personal attacks based on what, her saying she liked poker and you not thinking she's good, are cringe worthy and way uncalled for though. The tired, "you're all trying to hook up with her" retort is also just lame. I've called women I consider more attractive than her out on their behavior plenty of times and actually for the most part don't like any of the "tv pro" women players. The stuff you are coming up with to personally assault an amateur who got to play on a game show and handled herself well is disgusting though.

eta - not to mention the Big Game obviously encourages them to spice up some of their replies. She was probably a lot more low key, humble, and decent than they would like for their purposes. Are you really that upset over the "I'd like to try to get better and maybe become pro if I'm lucky enough to have a big score here" type response she gave for her aspirations regarding the show? Seriously? I guess I probably just got leveled by a troll or at least that's what I hope if you really think that way you've got problems.

If you think someone coming on TV, saying that her tactic in poker is to not play nitty bc that is what men are expecting from her bc she is small and pretty (!?) isnt an insult to men in general, you are deluded...

That one sentence alone speaks volumes about her opinion on men (horny donks that want to fxxx me, but I will mislead them, take their money and leave instead). A great, likeable character, yes...
We need more women like this...

The clip with her daddy was just the icing on the cake...Yeah, give your stepdaughter who actually would prefer to live some unrealistic dream as a poker-player and who I bet is by far not the most qualified person to do that job the business bc she is daddys little princess. Fxxx all the people that work hard and passionate to achieve sth in their lives, Fxxx your resposibility towards society, just hand her over the silver spoon. THIS is whats wrong with the world today.

But its nice that all of you are basically confirming her attitude towards men, showing her that she can get away with everything bc you will jump to her defense bc of primitive masculine needs.

Then you gang up on me for telling the truth and start lobbying to get me banned bc I dont conform to your world view.

You are real heroes, you should be so proud of yourselves...

Yeah, I can really see them having an interest in portraying the loose cannon as some kind of mega-douche to get more viewers.
This isnt the WWE dude, get real...

They've hyped up the personal interest type angle of every cannon I can remember. Every week it's, "guy who lost his house" or "lifetime grinder who wants to marry his sweetheart (who doesn't and who also cries over a win in a poker game)", or "homeless guy who hugs people" or whatever. She was "young asian chick who'd like to turn pro" and they probably teased a few sound bites out of her to hype that up like they've done every week.

I didn't see the segment with her Dad or whatever I don't watch the show like it's my job. Everything I saw she was quiet, composed, and decent. If she gave a "yeah, I'm gonna mix it up with the boys they'll never see me coming" speech and then got cold feet (and/or changed her mind due to table dynamic) when the lights came on big deal. Get a freakin life if that's what's causing you to spew all this venom. Seriously a giggly little "yeah i'm ready to play w/ the big boys I'll show DN what's up" type sound bite is what has you up in arms? Look in the mirror buddy and try to get some perspective.

They cant show sth that she didnt say, can they?

I think I have said all that I wanted to say on that matter and I'm getting tired of all that fuss now.

Maybe some of what you all said is true, but maybe you should reflect on what I said as well and see for yourself if there could be a little truth behind it also.

I am out of here, thanks for the insightful conversation everyone.

And thanks for your attention Daniel Nerdgreanu as I know you read every single response in every single thread that has the remote chance of featuring you. BTW vegans are hypocrites and in self-denial too, but we will discuss that topic next time.

Finally I feel the urge to apologize for one thing, but one thing only:

You are not fat Viffer. You look fine.

best wishes

KJoff

every phrase is one that you have typed in your last post that i have quoted and highlighted. A bit of careful editing and juggling the phrases round and the result is the total opposite of what you actually said.Don't be fooled into thinking that the shows producers aren't beyond doing this as well to make a coment/statement/publicity.

What are you talking about? The criticism Huggins is getting concerns his poker play, and Gee got plenty of that herself in this thread. The difference is, I'm sure if you started spouting your similar nonsensical insults regarding him as a person as you've done on Gee he'd have plenty of defenders. Or have you already? I wouldn't be surprised.

Inb4 yet another white knight accusation

The beat in Prahlads rap was really good! Is it from an other song or is it original?
