Re: Poker After Dark returns, airing on NBC Sports Network ("new" episodes air week of June 4)

this is awful ... if you have to go to the bathroom, go and hurry back. eat before the show. or eat at the table.

3-handed? ivey has been gone for two full episodes it seems.

definitely a little disappointed, but it's not like they can improve the next episode.

oppenheim plays pretty bad and comes across as quite the douche..

dwan's face when he hero called him was just too golden tho

It was refreshing to see that even the best players in the world can make mistakes.

I just watched 2 episodes, not sure why everyone is saying that Oppenheim plays notoriously bad. I thought he played a few hands really well and outplayed his opponents.
Not sure about his attitude at the table though.

Best part from last night's episode was Oppenheim's face when he saw Patrik had a 3 after calling the $31,000 on the river

Wish Ivey would have just gave someone else his seat and left.

Oppenheim played really really good but watching him tilts the living **** out of me. You have 10-9 suited from the BB. You are going to call. You aren't going to raise. You aren't going to fold, you were never considering those options.. WHY ARE YOU SITTING THERE FOR 20 SECONDS THINKING? He takes soooo long on stuff I know he's made up his decision about. Annoys me. Oh and then of course the flop comes 5-4-4 and he sits there for 45 seconds before folding.

Re: Poker After Dark returns, airing on NBC Sports Network ("new" episodes air week of June 4)

interesting spot with tom dwan / oppenheim week 2 episode 3

dwan 99
oppy QJ

board 10,3,7,8.9 no flush

dwan check calls flop
oppy checks back turn
dwan leads river $10,000 into $16,000

obviosuly this is not a value bet,you would think
Jx 6x is within range oppy would check back turn with

is he repping a jack trying to get a six to fold, oppy would not fold a 6 there
especially after the hero call on the last board that had 4 to a straight

but is he using that last hand to try and level him

would love to know what he was thinking

comments anyone

Re: Poker After Dark returns, airing on NBC Sports Network ("new" episodes air week of June 4)

No way for us to know enough about Oppenheim's game after only having seen such a small number of hands, AFAIK he hasn't played any other televised cash games so it's pretty impossible to say. Even though Oppenheim is a limit player I'm sure he has played some NLHE as part of the rotation in Bobby's Room vs Dwan so there is surely a decent amount of history that we don't know of

In a vacuum it seems pretty bad of course but as viewers we have no way of figuring out how frequently he bluffs the river based on the sample size we've observed

are you on about dwan or oppenheim here, you started of talking about oppenheim but my post was about dwan leading the river

if you are talking about oppenheim, you think that dwan was betting the river to induce a bluff
if you are on about dwan he beats all one pair hands that check back the turn so why not just check call
and keep bluffs in oppys range

oppy played in the 2011 aussie millions cash game by the way
