The whole show was very enjoyable. I agree with getting some young MTT pros to explain some of the concepts that the youngsters were employing. Definitely enjoyed the feed and would watch again!

Loved watching it. More televised poker please.

I really enjoyed watching it. Only complaint is I would like to see everyones hole cards every hand. Would really make it much more exciting to see who is playing like a complete nit preflop and letting themselves get ran over so they can move up the pay ladder.

But I disagree with Todd, we are the audience for it. This is for hardcore poker players. People who enjoy the strategy and nuances of the game. This is not a show for the casual fans, they will get bored and wonder why people aren't getting all in every 3rd hand.

really enjoyed it, overseas viewer so watched it on pokerstars.

Love the concept, and it avoided the coinflips and just the all ins

I thought it was the best televised tournament I've seen. It showed what a real final table is like - something I've never seen before. Hope you do more of these.

I wouldn't mind seeing an experiment with a 4 color deck, so it would be easier to distinguish the suits.

The commentary by Daniel Negreanu was the Nuts. (and i'm def not a daniel fanboi)

Absolutely excellent to hear his thoughts on each hand.

When the poker was boring I wanted to turn it off, but couldn't because his commentary was so good.

Best coverage to date...well done. Having expert commentary and limited breaks made a huge difference. I hope you do the same for the WSOP and include better coverage of the last 3-4 tables. Get rid of Norman Chad-period!

All of the pokerstars advertising was just too much. I realize you couldn't fill the spots but it was overkill. But I'll deal with it to watch poker the way it's supposed to be seen.

I also wanted to point out that Daniel Negreanu did a tremendous job. You could even argue it was one of the best jobs ever! There was nothing awkward said; no dead space.

It was very nice to have it on ESPN2. If it is financially feasible to do this I would highly recommend doing it more often!

I love this idea. I'd like to see more updates on chip counts, I know it can be tough to do, but this seems like it would be a great way to show them. Maybe with a "Updated at 23:30 ET" or "Updated at Hand 105" sort of disclaimer.

On their pretaped shows, ESPN really needs to include chip counts with every hand, like in the graphic with the name and photo, "Started Hand with 150,500 chips" but this ticker idea is awesome.

i think it was great to watch the PCA live, and Daniel Negreanu did a great job in the booth. i think espn should do more poker like this :-)

dn is a natural in the booth. feel like he would compliment any play by play guy well, but i also really like hartigan.

wish we could see everyone's hole cards, but maybe that was due to lag?

don't think that "split" graphic is really useful for most hands (like 95% of hands probably).

i know stack sizes are hard to track, but that would be nice info to show. maybe this is impossible for a live feed.

overall, amazing quality and production for a live broadcast, great commentating, and thanks for experimenting with these live feeds.

Oi, leave Norm alone. Take it from an actual comedian, Norm's a funny guy. Par example, 'x went to le Academie Francais, Paris. They had a ramblin rec...[pause for comic effect] I believe it was called, 'le ramblin rec'.' Have i got it right Norm?

PS. Forgive me if its wrong, I was never any good at writing for other people.

Not from U.S. and watched the Stars broadcast on the internet. Thought it was a broadcast of real quality. Surprisingly so and an excellent showing of the standard of play.

I watch a lot of different kind of sport and not so many poker tournaments, with the all-ins etc, but during this I think I never felt a dip in my interest to want to turn it off.

Sensationalising ( Think its not a word ) would corrupt what was fascinating and intriguing.

A very very good avert for poker as developing skill to a high level. Think it could be shown to legislators to represent cards in a very good light.

Absolutely loved the live broadcast, Hartigan/Negreanu was an awesome commentary lineup and it was really fascinating to see events unfold live. I would echo the calls for stack sizes/pot sizes etc to be displayed a little more, but besides that it was great.

Has anyone been able to find a replay of this if they missed it live?! I searched on Pokerstars.tv and the ESPN3 in my country doesn't have it either!

I watched the ESPN2 broadcast and really enjoyed it. I felt like it was the best possible compromise--only a short delay from live and you still get the hole cards, as opposed to the WSOP recap shows weeks or months after the fact. I also like having the hole cards, and if there's an hour delay to make that happen, that's fine by me.

That said, while I liked the commentary, I felt it would've been nice (as has already been mentioned) to have someone who was more familiar with the players involved. Obviously DN knows his stuff and was seeing what the players were doing, how they were changing gears, etc., but it would've been nice to see someone who had a lot of experience against the guys at the FT. (I realize, of course, that this is difficult since you don't know exactly who will be at the FT.)

I missed it because I didn't even know it was going to be on TV, Can ESPN promote it a little leading up to the date it will be aired?

I'm trying to watch it now via the link you posted and for some reason all I get is sound, no picture.

Sounds like a great broadcast I would have enjoyed watching live

This was the best turny ever on TV.

DN was great, the speed at which it was run was great, the WSOP ME was so slow.

I watched this from start to finish on espn2, even watching it over NFL, and I love football.

If all the main tournaments were "live" or as close to live as possible like this was, I would watch all of them from start to finish.

I absolutely hate all WSOP broadcasts that are done after the fact with commentary from Norman Chad, he has no strategy talk, and is pretty horrible to listen to with all the goofiness. I never watch WSOP broadcasts anymore.

As stated, about the only thing better would be to show every hand Preflop if possible, and if DN was talking the whole time, he is the best poker commentator I have heard to date.

Having the WSOP ME final two tables live like this would be 100000000000000x better than todays current espn format and could really get some huge ratings if it was "live". Get rid of the freaking November crap please.

A 2+2 thread where I didn't get bashed once. What the??? Wow guys, thank you so much for the positive feedback. I love working with James, he is so smooth and I think we had good chemistry together. In response to a couple things brought up:

1. Sneeze button. Apologies, I had a bit of a cold that I was on the tail end of. I pressed the "cough" button every time, but since James and I are seated next to each other I need to time them better so that we both press our cough buttons. Easy fix.

2. Knowing the players. One thing I can do is be better prepared for sure. I planned on doing more research on the players but my schedule was pretty jammed at PCA, and I was also trying to spend time with Amanda and co.
I like the idea of maybe popping in a guest briefly that knows the players to provide some background, but with something as big as this, you kind of have to lock in your commentators a week in advance. A guy might have a few things to say about a player he knows, but it's also unlikely he'd be able to carry a 10 hour broadcast.

3. Doing more of these. Everyone I spoke too thought it was a success which means I think it's VERY likely that we'll see this happen again.

4. Hole cards for all. I mentioned I'd like to see folded hands also. I love that idea. I think it was just a function of time. As you all noticed, sometimes we didn't get the cards right away. Only way to really fix that might be to have bar codes on the cards so they instantly pop up.

Thanks again for the kind words, and am glad you guys seemed to love what we did with the broadcast. Have to give a round of applause to all the 441 productions people, they are simply the best. They have been covering the WSOP the last 7 years, and I was thrilled to hear they'd be working on this live broadcast.

Daniel is the worst poker player and commentator ever. LOL
