Obviously I haven't read the entire post, but I think the Benza v Kaplan rivalry thing is ******ed and not in the least bit funny.
I'd be happy to have Benza back on the show if they dropped the "we hate each other act". Kaplan especially needs to realise that bringing down other people is the lowest form of humor.
I did like how Kaplan would explain some of the finer points of poker to Benza, which was, of course, really an indirect way to "teach" the audience what was going on. That was good.
This post is pretty much how I feel.
For me I don't miss AJ that much, but I'm not glad he's gone. I watch the show for the poker anyway.

I absolutely agree that there needs to be a 2nd person commentating with gk - the responsibility of tech insight, color, and humor is too much for one guy, plus i think kaplan's shctick works much better with a "straight guy" - but benza is not the guy.
We are watching an (for the most part) intelligent game, we are (see previous parenes...) intelligent viewers, gk offers intelligent commentary - and it can only work properly with an intelligent 2nd seat. Maybe a smart young player who is better versed in todays strategy and flow and lingo etc would work well with gk. There's no shortage out there who have had some experience in booths now.
Maybe a viable alternative thread to this thread would be suggestions on who should be inn the booth with Kaplan.
Fact is he is not coming back. As bad as Kara is the guy is a cancer and has been booted from every media has been part of. They guy needs to change his attitutde if he wants a career in TV but seems nobody wants to touch this guy.

Assaulted Stuttering John during a live Howard Stern Show in which he was instantly fired. I mean the guy is a gossip columist bro and garners no respect and treats people with none. Which is why Chuck Zito knocked him out once. The guy has been fired or let go from every job and his shows have not got ratings so it's not a mistake PAD **** canned him. No matter how many people sign this he isn't coming back trust me.
Gabe's Borscht Belt style of comedy needs a straight man. Without one, it gets old very fast. Maybe not AJ, but somebody has to break up the non-stop shtick. Kara is just a lesser version of Leann, which does nothing to compensate for the droning 1960's humor.

Well, I don't think that's true. I liked him on Celebrity Fit Club and it seemed that the other contestants did too. Sure, he didn't get along with Dustin Diamond, but then who did?
And he's well known enough that he'll never be out of work, unless it's by his own choice. He probably won't make big money but he'll do all right. I think he's a likable guy.

I liked him on Stern- most everyone did. No one is saying he isn't entertaining.
AJ has written about his problems getting work. He's a former gossip columnist, which is a huge strike against him. People that he has formerly alienated will never be quick to offer him a job, of work with him.
Benza also has/had a reputation of being hard to work with, primarily due to his gigantic ego.
