Last night might have been the most painful of the new season. The poker was mediocre for the most part, and it's shows like that where you really needed the old team.

Honestly, it's just brutal to watch. Poor Gabe is just floating out there on an island, trying to keep it entertaining.

It's not about Benza individually. I think for most people, it's just a chemistry. They had one, and the new show has absolutely none.

Seriously, took perfection in the poker show community, one that everyone tried to copy i.e. poker after dark, and turned it into a joke.
Daniel Negraneu said it best, and he didnt even mean it on purpose, he said if he had a job other than being a poker player he would be a commentator but he dosent have the body for it. Kara Scott adds nothing to the show

Sigh...

Every episode I try to give it another chance. I think "C'mon man, Gabe's still funny, and there's more opportunity to listen to table talk." But then the episode starts, and Gabe's voice seems so monotone and unengaging compared to what was.

100% correct in my opinion. Kaplan needs someone to play off of, and AJ was great at playing the straight man and was able to keep an ego in check.

I've never understood it: playing poker is fun, watching people play poker is boring as hell. If you find it THAT interesting go down to your local card room and perch on the rail and watch--the conversations will be better than whats on TV too! Televised poker absolutely needs interesting commentators.

Don't even get me started on the new women......anyone would be better than her.

Also, did you know that DID YOU KNOW is about as interesting as when my in-laws come over for dinner?

I only watch HSP and once in a while the PAD cash games. When last season HSP started people were knocking AJ and Gabe. Maybe 33% of the posts were negative, how the show was better off without them. I decided to write a supporting post, that spoke for me and the guys in my game.

It a shame they canned AJ, the show was better with the two of them. But, here's how I feel, of the 6-7 billion people in the world, there isn't one who can do a better job on HSP then Gabe. The show is still the best OF ALL TIME. Just not quite as good as before.
