For a student of the game, Chad is horrible ... unless you need to study how a donkey thinks. While we're on the subject, I can't stand announcers calling a raise a reraise. If a player leads and gets raised it's just a raise. Sexton started this nonsense and the stupid Aussie announcers for Stars for the Aussie Millions have picked up this bad habit.

Those Aussie jokers compounded this error by habitually saying, "he's betting to see where he's at." I love the response by Cloutier, I paraphrase: if you're a real player you should already know where you're at. And Sklansky agrees, ranking the information bet as last reason you should bet. There are many variations but basically there's a value bet and a bluff. That's where it's at!

Pre flop in hold em, you have 3 options, call, raise, or fold. How is someone then not re raising an open raise.

I'm talking about on the flop or the turn. Player A bets, Player B raises and Sexton mistakenly calls that a reraise.

Norman Chad is the best, funniest announcer, of all. His comments are funny at a gut level. Talking about some wild-looking European, he said "...looks like he's not from around here, Lon."

By the time the WSOP airs on ESPN we all know the outcome. It's a tournament and not that interesting to watch from a poker perspective. However, Norman Chad always makes it really entertaining with his dumb (but funny) jokes. I don't know why people don't like him.

The WPT is unwatchable with Mike 'Vince McMahon without the personality' Sexton commentating. Chads a legend.

This guy's comments make me uncomfortable. I just watched a clip of WSOP where he kept calling Phil Hellmuth honeybunch and sweetheart. He needs to stick with the ex-wife jokes.

I am a huge Norman Chad fan. You can only take so much serious poker talk during the course of a televised condensed tournament. The majority of viewers who watch the WSOP are pretty aware of what is going on and don't need a strategical review on every hand. Those who aren't into it simply don't watch. And Norm's sydicated sports column is amazing. My local paper the Pittsburgh Post Gazette runs it weekly and I look forward to it everytime. I really think Norman Chad is great for poker. And as many of you have stated, he does play and has played quite a bit of poker in his life.

Norman makes Phil Hellmuth's rants and outbursts funny. WSOP on ESPN would suck if no Norman, imo.

Chad is good, cashed in the last WSOP and when he marrys Kara Scott Chad, they'll be a super-duo, lol. I think they have those two guys commenting on the WSOP b/c they really are very good. Occasionally on other shows the commentrators will miss read a hand and often they give advice like there's one way to play and they know it. On others shows, they say so and so needs a card and miss that there's other outs occassionally, I don't see that on WSOP coverage. On Heartland Poker they have these guys constantly saying the player should have done this or that, like they play like a micro-bot or something. Some of those other commentators know Squaduesch compared to Chad, lol.
