Re: Nittiest laydown ever seen on televised poker

the action wasn't really televised, but in on of the wpt segments a guy had folded a set on the flop, with no particular draws

though he was correct (other guy had a bigger set) he just folded because it was close to the bubble, why even play it then imo?

I guess I didn't pay super close attention to stack depths but it's pretty hard to give villain a range where folding > shoving... especially when we were the utg pfr.

He probably misread his cards... I don't know how you could fold.

It's gotta be a mistake.

worst fold ever if he knew his hand

what hand does he have bad equity against? I'm pretty sure there isn't a hand where he has less than 40% equity.

This should be a fairly comfortable winner.

I remember an Austrailian women who folded A9 on a 99X rainbow board to a standard continuation bet.

There is one on the EPT where someone (correctly) folds KJ to a cbet on a jjx flop, can't remember which episode though

Nothing posted comes close to the OP though. All terrible folds but at least they didn't fold a hand that has so many draws.

You don't often flop a pair+straight draw+flush draw+over to the board often in poker .

I can't believe matusow's fold wasn't posted.... Here's a world class player raising to "see where hes at" and then lays down the 3rd nut flush....You can't botch a hand more than this, have a plan FFS

Re: Nittiest laydown ever seen on televised poker

The one in post #12 has to be the worst.

The Raymer WSOP one is bad (though I don't know where that was vis-a-vis the bubble).

OP example is bad, and I don't know those players (big caveat), but I would rank it third of these, actually. He's OOP, tens and eights are hardly clean outs, and who knows if he gets paid on spades or if villain has overs with spades. Flop crushes villain's button call range. Villain raises with Dwan still in the hand. Perfect example of power of position. I still peel and play poker, but I would have this third of these three.
