show me some hands on HSP where ppl have c/r river on bet/call (3way!!), when they didn´t have the nuts. show me some... the fold is decent and ok... most of the time, david has A or K high flush here and rarely 7 high flush...

I can understand people bashing Negreanu's play in other hands, but folding the ten-high flush is completely fine there. In the long run, calling there can't be a winning play, unless you're on a really fishy table.

I love it how some self-appointed experts berate an extremely good live player and a great character. I'm pretty sure what happened is that he valued making a big lay down on national television to be higher than 75k bucks.

well negreanu isnt the worst cause theres been some awful amateurs on air.

but among the pros, he probably is.

im no expert, not even close, but i get the feeling that whats negreanu is missing is control. he doesnt have a real plan for all these marginal hands hes playing.

my guess is that this "splashing around" strategy was always a losing play EV wise in itsself -- but his massive reading abilities in donkaments made it smart because of massive implied odds. in HSP, his hand readings arent that great, and he fails to take control of his hands. his splashing around pre-flop becomes a big leak, since he cant expect to outplay any of these guys post-flop in the long run.

Contrast this to durrrr, who seems to play at least as many hands as Negreanu, but seems much better at analysing betting patterns, and take control of hands with betting and putting pressure on his opponents. He also seems much more consentrated when in hands, where Negreanu seems very sloppy and too relaxed, talking **** all the time, making him miss that overall sense of what is really going on in the hand, in which durrrr often seems spot on. thats just an opinion, i dont really know that. i just get that feeling.

perhaps he just lacks mathematic fundamentals. hes a "feel" player, which can work in donkaments but not among the best pros. hes just not solid enough.

all that being said, he has been unlucky in HSP, and with neutral EV results i dont think we would have shouted as hard about how bad he is.

Im watching the NAPT shoot out event right now, hes playing a lot of poopie hands.

Dont believe all u see on tv. Ask him , he has a blog and answers a lot of questions. If u really wanted to know why he is playing "bad" u wouldnt ask random people on 2+2

I think Laak's overcautiousness is probably a better adjustment for those games than the splashing around that Eli/Negreanu do.

For what it's worth Elezra is a winning player on HSP.

Adjusted for the occasional overlimp with queens, or the admission of no post flop skills by dropping a 50-ball in because you don't want to play aces.

Eli's passive style does surprisingly well against hyper-aggresive players.

Either that or he just runs really good. Because he's never been a big loser on any televised show that I can remember, and he's on many shows playing against very tough lineups.

If I didnt know any better of him except his appearances on HSP, I would say Phil Galfond, this guy was a nit the first time he played and a lagtard this time.

Yeah, but in the table he was in the first time (Sammy vs Eli vs Jamie crapshoot), being a nit was the best possible way to go.
