Not the worst, but definitely tries too hard to make "sick" plays.

He's gotta be down close to 2 million by now. He lost 600k in season 5, and he's lost in every season.

He has plenty of credentials, but always plays like a newb.

I said he gained my respect for bluffing Ivey and his post game comments on why he did it where equally impressive. He is my favorite because he shows up with a $1M buy-in, he shows no fear, he shows class and is generally better then most guys at the table.

Of course, I am not suggesting he is better then Ivey......but who else besides Dawn has the balls to raise to ~$300k with the 43 with no pair or draw.

DN has been playing a lot of high stakes NLHE on Pokerstars lately any case any of you haven't noticed

According to PTR, as of 4-9 he is down $138K at 100/200 NLH SH.

Negreanu is a tournament specialist. He's dabbling in cash. He's rather open about this. Read his blog about it. Online he's "learning" at $100/$200 and is starting to learn to play four tables at $5/$10.

Oh, here's his March stats from $100/$200 on pokerstars:
Hands Played: 5684
Profit: $204,734
Big Blinds (per 100 hands): 18.01

So all you ballers out there bashing him have better stats than this, right?

Good luck in the Main Event, I think you would be the favourite among pros.

Veldhuis is debatable. His style would probably work really well online against a weaker field, but doesn't seem particularly effective against this subset of live players. I do think he'd do very well against a lot of other pros, but not the line up he was in.

I think Dario, Robl, Hellmuth's and Gus's quality of play are comparable to Negreanu's this season. Hellmuth got really dicked in a few hands, and Gus butchered his QQ hand. Dario's style seemed pretty good, but he ran into some bad spots.


Greenstein and Antonio may have played better by virtue of not entering many pots vs a really tough field.

Laak (via a small sample size) and Dennis Phillips have definitely been worse.

I don't think Antonius actually played particularily good or bad this season. He just seemed really card dead, but fortunate enough to get AA stacking AQ. He probably would play well given better cards though.

I've wached every season and every episode of HSP.

Its getting to the point where I actually feel BAD for Daniel, I'm rooting for him to suck out once in a while and win a pot. He plays some hands so badly that I just don't know what to think.

It seems as he's just trying too hard to outplay players that are downright better than him. He's playing *fundamentally* bad poker, by getting into positions where

1) he's out of position
2) he's playing marginal hands against better players
3) he's bluffing when he's not sure where he's at in the hand. (this is the biggest error)

Sometimes, when you are in a game and you are having serious trouble putting people on hands because they are tricky players you just need to sit down and play lock down fundamentally good poker.

You don't have to be a pro to know this. Also, I'm by NO MEANS saying I'm anywhere at all a "good" poker player. I'm just saying that sometimes you just have to look at the simplest answer being the best answer.

Who here hasn't found themselves in a game where they are having trouble because the mix of tight/loose players is causing us to "see things that aren't there" and to convince yourself your opponent has the hand you want him to have?

Sorry about the rant. Just wanted to say that Daniel really needs to make some changes to his game when he's palying against this lineup.

Finally - Tom Dwan has gotten hit with the whole deck, on top of being in the top 3 best players there (Ivey, Dwan, Antonious).

I was thinking the same thing. Maybe he just didn't want to get involved in a big pot so early? It completely did not make any sense whatsoever to the average viewer.

I think Doyle was (due to Guy), but in all fairness, the stacks were a lot bigger in his session.

Jamie Gold, imo, was worse than Fred Chamanara. Fred might've been weak, but he wasn't as spewy as Gold.

Real quick.. the most annoying player, without question, is Esfandiari.

If he says "wheeee" or "ladies and gentlemen" one more time I'm going to throw something at the tv.

Kidpoker has openly admitted his weakness in the online world on his blog and is working hard to improve his game. im sure there are any number of players that are better than him online. But I will repeat my earlier comment. 12 mill in career earnings puts him in a elite tier of players period.

Mods should look into removing obvious troll threads. Especially since we all know DN comes here and reads (and responds) to some threads. Now if the OP was serious then it's different, but c'mon, HSP has featured numerous donks with too much money over the years.
