This is by far the best poker movie ever, I've seen like at least 5 times, but there's 2 things I hate about it.

1.) As OP stated, Bankroll Management, there's nothing wrong with taking shots, but putting your entire, $30k bankroll on the table to play in a cash game... that's ridiculous and doesn't happen. Also, buying in for $6k to play in a $50k buy-in cash game against Johnny Chan lol... c'mon sooo unrealistic.

2.) Too much cheating... Half of the movie is Worm performing his card tricks, and dealing from the bottom of the deck and hand signals, and chip placements... When people who don't understand poker watch this they will think everyone cheats at the game and have bias views of the game.

I just watched it again for the first time in years. Every second line has some sort of poker reference - so much so that it could make for a good drinking game.

Pretty quick. I think Mr Matros has this one right.....If your savvy and excellent opponent bets 15K into a 5200 pot on the river with a A9893 board...and he holds A9, what beats him...AA, could KGB have played pocket AA's this way? Yup. Is that what he is repping? Yup, so do you call or toss out a 33K re-raise? He should have saved 18K and called or folded if he read the oreo's correctly. Only getting called by a better hand. 15K for 5200 with 2nd nuts is tough. Re-raising 33K more is Durr like balls!

Nitpicking here... but when KGB shows his cards and announces Aces full how does he know he's good? What if Mike McD has quad 9's there, wouldn't that be hella funny. I suppose KGB can kind of tell from Mike McD's reaction, but he just stands up and walks away.

This is something I think about every time I watch the movie too, haha. KGB knows that Mike doesn't have quads because when he says "You're right, I don't have the spades" Mike looks devastated right away and IIRC he slumps down in his chair a bit. Also, I'm pretty sure if Mike had quads he would have flipped over his cards as soon as KGB showed his.

So he sits down with 10 BB @ 300/600. He's been playing real tight for an hour, picking up some blinds, still has his starting stack.

Chan has to call what to see a flop? What's his likely 4bet/fold range in that spot (LHE)?

He only has to call 3 bets to see a showdown. There's no implied odds in this game. Or am I thinking about Limit Hold Em incorrectly?

yea he made a move on chan after sitting tight for how long then 5 or 6 bets him pre.. i always thought that was funny.

if someone didnt play a hand for an hour and 5 or 6 bets me pre im folding pretty much anything accept aces
