you can't compare harry's play to durr's ... harry shoved for $1000 into like a $60 pot. durr played aggressively, but didn't make some ridiculous overbet.

Come on we aren't seriously comparing the tow. Harrys play was bad period. It was a tilt shove and he lucked out.

Re: Live at the Bike 2012 thread

If you guys are talking about the hand where seat 9 had 99222 and seat one shoved all-in for $1,000 into a $50 pot, then I would've folded if i was seat 9, if i was there in the game.

But after some analysis its such an easy call. Seat 1 had been playing supper-aggressively all day correct, we saw his cards we know he was bluffing with air almost every pot he was involved in. He raised preflop and checked the flop of 924, so think about it, a player this aggressive would NEVER check this flop if he made a pair, if he had a 2, a 4, or a 9 he would've bet 100% of the time...

The only time I can see him checking is if he flopped a monster and wanted to trap, so if he had a set of 22, 44, or 99 are the only hands he would check with. By the river we can rule out a set of 9's, and a set of 2's. So we would specifically have to put him on a set of 4's. Then when there are three 2's on board he shoves $1,000 into $50, this is so obviously a stone cold bluff and a pair of 99's is always good here IMO.

However, in the heat of the moment, I probably would've just folded, and not analyzed the hand properly.

I think we are talking about Harry checking sb and Bb ask if he wants to chop, not seeing limped. Harry points out limper so Bb raises with AA. Limper calls and Harry shoves $1100 with 5c2c into like $60 pot.

Re: Live at the Bike 2012 thread

Oh ok, I saw that. I don't think it was a tilt shove, he just has an aggressive style and whenever he see's weakness he attacks. That's him having fun.

There was a limper = weakness
BB asked if he wants to chop = weakness

He figured both players dont have much of a hand so he just shoved, thinking they would both fold 100% of the time.

you can find out a lot more info about your opponent's hand strength by raising a lot less than $1,100 there. make it $200 and when BB shoves, you have lost $200. he deserved to lose $1,100 on that hand.

Spade The May 22, 2012 Hand-of-the-Night

Does Ron's kicker play in this $1,400+ pot on the May 22nd episode of Live at the Bike?

Did you miss the part where it's more fun to just shove a 1K stack in? It's obviously -ev but I don't think he cares. Not everyone has the same goals in every hand.

The ONLY reason why Harry thought that BB was weak was because BB didnt see the limper. And although he already knew he had AA asked Harry to chop as a courtesy since BB thought they were heads up SB vs BB.

Misread by Harry and did his normal overbet shove to scare the little fish into folding. it works pretty well since most players only see overbet shoves with the nuts and even though Harry might be pretty weak is he really weaker than the absolute strength of your hand? Hard to tell and are you really willing to call off $1000 for $60 to find out? Sure if I have AA...

Remember that any bet is for a purpose: ie can you get worse to call and better to fold? With such a gross overbet you are ONLY getting called by say QQ-AA. Even if you are only called by pps better than 10s.. you are still crushed.. What for $60 bucks?

Bad play.. but thats how Harry plays and he likes it. If he lost that hand It wont really matter to him since he plays a lot bigger in general. He also seems to be very well off and he doesnt care about the money.
