And, generally, I don't know anybody who folds Aces in the Big Blind in a 3-way pot with an early position limper in the hand. You don't get Aces very often so the theory is to get value out of your big hands when possible, at least, that's what they tell me.

What ppl couldnt see on the show was that the guy from australia didnt see me in the pot and asked harry if he wanted to chop.. AFTER he had seen his cards.. That means he was being a true gentlemen asking to chop even though he already knew he had aces..
After he realized I was in the pot he did the thing anyone would have done and raised. Harry was not paying attention and thought this guy was angle shooting when in fact it was the opposite.

REALLY?!?!? Wow, it looks like Harry asked to chop and Jim said no...but it was the other way around huh? That's why he points at you and the dealer mentions that you're in. GOT IT!
Jim is a nice man, he reserved his spot on the show 2-weeks in advance, when he knew he was going to be in Los Angeles on a business trip. He may have lost the hand, but he said it was a real treat that his hand was the Hand-of-the-Day.

aces are only one pair, either lose a big pot or win small one as we saw here. harry's hand was way more powerful with more straight draws, hidden 2pair/trips potential/FD.

Give me Aces every time and I'll win this pot 80/100 times against 5♣2♣. Aces can hit sets, straights, a better flush, a better two pair, etc. and really, all they have to do is hold up, which they will do 80% of the time.

Can you give the mathematical background for this theory or did you just make this up?
It's all 50:50 in the end: Either you win or you don't. :-)

Here's the math :
| Hand | Pot equity | Wins | Ties |
|---|
| AsAc | 82.80% | 1,413,484 | 8,757 | | 5c2c | 17.20% | 290,063 | 8,757 |
I love the way our RFID graphics evidence the equity in the hand, preflop, on the flop and on each street. As you can see in the video, A♣A♠ is 85% and 5♣2♣ is 15%. You can also see how the equity changes on the flop, to 62% vs 21%. Even on the turn Jim's Aces still have a 5% chance to chop. I hope that watching the show and paying attention to these numbers helps improve your game.

^^math is cool and all but poker is a game of people and leveling, and re-leveling, and then leveling again till you own someones soul and stack them with ATC.

if he hadn't decided to ship it pre he could've gotten away from the hand when the board ran out so wet. instead he just went with one pair and lost his stack. that's what live deepstack poker is all about...knowing when to get away from your hand.

Seriously? Harry shipped it pre with 52 what is the guy with AA gonna do? fold? I dont think so. Now if the pot was just raised and then the AA saw the flop and turn then for sure he can get away from the hand...
This is completely results oriented analysis saying AA is ONLY one pair.. Preflop its the nuts and I am going to call an all in everytime..
