I agree that twitch show is better. Poker Central is easier though, being on 6 is a lot less work than turning it up to 11.

Re: Live at the Bike

I'm gonna shoot the people at LATB an email, but thought I'd ask here too.
Newer subscriber, wanted to watch all the archived stuff.

So when I click specific shows, the new screen opens and sometimes the videos play.
But sometimes I get a black screen that says "Sorry Because of privacy settings, this video cannot be played here"

So I log out, log back in, re-click. Sometimes it happens again, sometimes it works.
If I do this enough times the videos always eventually work, but it's annoying.

Help? It's not like I'm logged in on different devices or anything

Ive never experienced this. If you post this in the LATB forums someone in tech support will have answers for sure.

Re: Live at the Bike

Some changes have occurred in the past few months as to who (players) is on the show. Folks come and go and then come back due to personal life reasons. There are likely other reasons for the absence of some other folks. Reasons that will not be revealed any time soon. Economics is usually involved. Normal dynamics actually , and in the end none of our business.

correct. thank you. people asking about others financial situations seem creepy and in the end no one really knows anyway.

Let Harry Play! Let Harry Play!

Was he banned for throwing cards as Bear Jew alluded to on the show a week ago?
Does he still play at the bike or was he perma banned.

For as much as he let his emotions take over, he is one of the better players to play on LATB and was good to learn from.

LATB has nothing to do with whether harry is or is not allowed to enter the bicycle casino. i honestly have no clue what his current standing is.

time to start a dairy farm full of No Limit Hold Em Players. PLO players and others without much milking experience need not apply.

Re: Live at the Bike

I've watched a few episodes of LATB and can anyone tell me if the players on the show really play like that normally when they aren't on the show? Or are they just doing some advertising?

And does anyone know if these are winning players? I've seem some regulars on the show for example who have VPIPs over 40%. These stats are so extreme, I don't understand how anyone can play profitably against opponents who simply understand relative hand values.

there is no advertising that ive seen from the action players. they come in and gamble it up every week on and off the show. the reason these players do OK with this style is because the game is deep uncapped straddled and very big for the Bicycle Casino. because of this they can bully "nit pro" type players a lot. Many 2p2 type warriors can talk a big game but shrivel up when $10,000 is at risk.

Re: Live at the Bike

I don't know which specific players you're referring to, but if you think someone plays to many hands to be a winning player, more than likely he isn't one. You know not everyone in any poker game can be a winning player, that's the nature of the game...

Thanks for the input Limon. I'm curious though, what's to stop someone from buying into those games medium stacked or regular stacked (70-100bb)? Is that against the rules? Because by limiting the effective stack, wouldn't all the advantages of deep stacked loose play be negated?

I think one of them is called "bearjew", and I forgot who the other one was. Bearjew seems to be a regular, is he a winning player? If he's actually a winning player who averages 40+% VPIP, I might buy a subscription to LATB just to study his play. I mean 40% VPIP in a full ring just seem... ridiculous. I'd go broke in a week playing like that.

people arent really coming on the show to grind out a small hourly. the show is only on a few hours a week. people come on to make a big score and to see themselves play in big/stressful situations.

it really wouldnt help your game to come on a show and just nit it up with a short stack. there would be no situations for you to review. Playing big on LATB is probably the worlds greatest training tool. You get to see your demeanor and tells. you get to see how your reads were and if you were correct in your assessment of game flow. you can present the hands to a coach or friend without the filter of your biases, they can see the actual hand play out. The LATB regulars who take their game seriously get better at an amazing speed.

I feel like every player is trying to do their best to win the most money possible or "make a big score". But for the tables I'm seeing on LATB, the best way to make that big score is to attack the obscene looseness of the table, not by joining in on that looseness. The time to play extremely loose is on passive tables with opponents who call you down 3 streets with top pair.

Oh, I don't mean go on LATB with the plan to nit it up. I mean you should go on LATB or any table for that matter with the plan of adjusting to the weaknesses of your opponents. It just so happens that I feel like the best adjustment you can make on a table that loose is to take away implied odds of the LAGs by playing with a smaller stack, and entering pots with better hands than your opponents.

I feel like if I were one of the losing players on that show and I reviewed my hands, the biggest mistake I'll notice is that I'm consistently putting myself in marginal situations for no good reason. And learning this lesson would naturally lead me to play a tighter range of hands.

Re: Live at the Bike

You can learn a lot from watching LATB , especially if you are a serious rec player just wanting to get better. However I personally really enjoy the entertainment side of the show a little more. Usually it's a good mix of both.

Re: Live at the Bike

Anyone have favorite episodes that they can recall?
I'm plowing through the archive, I usually just search 5/10NL or look for Harry/Bearjew/Cyrus because I like watching them play.

The "Circus" episode with Harry and his older friend was pretty great. Harry keeps petting the older guy, and Harry [backdoor] owns some internet wizard kid. Kid looked like he was going to cry, claims that the Bike is a circus letting the regs do whatever they want.

Harry also ships 10K with A3o gets called by K9o

I agree, the show is incredibly entertaining, but also informational even for someone who's been playing live seriously for 5 years

Much appreciated! Here are the top 5 shows i can think off the top of my head from the past year or so.

-Cyrus

06/04/2016: Limon tilts Bear Jew hard and he camps outside of the booth. Limon/JJ fear for their lives. Also there was entertaining poker.

05/04/2016: Josh triple straddles and gets in a ridiculous 12k pot. A lot of action throughout the show. I had a few good plays that game too.

09/24/2016: Ridiculous 5/10 game, and Bear Jew's debut. Non-stop craziness. Start of my rivalry with Eldar.

07/23/2015: Lily Kiletto destroys the table emasculates everyone in her path.

06/02/2015: The JackMatt episode. Limon on fire throughout the show.
