Love him? Hate him? Meh? No idea who he is?

And, of course, I'm talking about his antics and not him as a person.

He's clearly a huge tool but if he's proved anything during this coverage is that most of these players are huge tools they just need someone to bring it out.

How many of them completely lost composure, tilted, and ended up looking worse than Kassouf? Dozens.

For every one Matt Moss there were multiple Vayo's. Just pathetic.

Here's my problem with Kassouf - we had Marchese, Olbst, Colman, Tony Gregg, and a couple of others all making deep runs. Instead of seeing coverage of them we see ****ing Kassouf 90% of the broadcast. **** that ****. I wanted to see Colman's run but they showed him in a couple of hands.

They almost literally didn't show Marchese at all except for his bust out hand.

I wonder how you would react in their situation where you have a guy at the table who is clearly stealing value from you by stalling and tanking. You cant really blame these guys for tilting imho. Its not that hard to tilt people really, it just takes a special person to be willing to do that as a strategy. Most will not go so low nahmeen?

100x this! Have to blame espn producers though, not Kassoufs fault they chose to cover him extensively

The fact that everyone either hates or loves kassouf proves that they made the right choice choosing him over the top pros. He's just better for TV. If we had seen colman or marchese instead, we wouldn't be talking about them right now.

Can you freaking fess up already? Which account/player are you an alt for? Look at your post history, you are literally in every Kassouf thread to talk crap about him. You only post to talk crap about him. You created this account just to defend yourself because you probably looked like a complete and utter tool on television.

I find him unbearable. I mainly play cash games, is this kind of act common in tourneys? The ability to table change would mean that no one would play with him.

Also, imagine if everyone acted like him. Game would be unplayable just due to the tanking.

I have no problem with him talking. My issue is the tanking. Tournament play needs a pre-flop shot clock.

Yes, the talking is much less a problem than the tanking. If someone wants to talk in a reasonable amount of time, that's annoying but fine. However no one wants to sit and listen forever, they want you to make a decision and move on. The problem though is that players who talk usually take a lot of time.

I understand for instance that the AA v. KK Benger v. Kassouf hand took 18 minutes!!! I can't even imagine sitting and watching a hand take 18 minutes without even seeing a flop, and then to see it was AA v. KK that should be done in a minute.

I find it interesting some people would rather watch silent hoodie and sunglass wearing introverts flip AA vs KK for the entire coverage than someone who at least tries to liven things up.

By "liven it up", you mean by taking 30 seconds to fold preflop every time regardless of your hand? Or do you mean by going into the tank when you flop k-high with no pair and no draw and two opponents have gone all in in front of you?

Maybe you watched some live coverage I wasn't aware of that made you deal with him tanking pre-flop every hand? I only saw the ESPN coverage where it was minimized and he was one of the only entertaining characters on display.

Dear god, I worry for the human race that ANYONE would like this obnoxious toxic little weed.

Why the **** is he so special that jack e should ignore multiple clear rule breaches. Why should one player be able to upset and delay other players in any event?

why the **** should we as players have to put up with ANY form of behaviour that wouldn't be tolerated in business or other sports or society?

It's not clever or strategic speech play or any other justification, it's simply attempting to tilt other players by being as obnoxious as possible. He's not getting verbal tells or reads, he's harassing players to the point that they cannot think. When the **** did this ever become a legitimate strategy?

These wsop me videos are a disgrace. Jack effel, you were so clearly intimidated by kassouf it was laughable. You had it right the first time, almost, but there was a fairly clear case for declaring the idiots 9-high hand dead. Then we all heard you say to kassouf that yes you were going to give BENGER a penalty! I nearly puked.

It's not a case of kassouf manipulating the rules. He's breaking them. It's so clear cut. Grow some balls wsop or ppl are going to leave these tournaments in droves because if this is allowed to happen, every table will have three of these morons before long and the tournament will be an unplayable carnival of the obnoxious.

the KK hand and the AA river bluff were two hands that categorically prove that this so called speech play strategy is a load of bull**** and that this twit is just there to tilt people. He's getting no useful information.

It's time to put an end to this ****. It's so rare that players cross the line and the game is played in a great spirit by almost all. Verbal intimidation, incessant badgering of players while they are making a decision, abuse...it has to stop.

If wsop needs to update the rules then so be it. But imo and the opinion of many others the rules already exist. They just weren't enforced.

Bad manners and bad etiquette are simply that. There's no place for them in poker or any other interaction between decent people.

And one final thing. As players we are not here for your ****ing entertainment. If you are not entertained by high level poker strat, good manners and great people then go watch something else.

Multiple clear rule breaches? What rules did he break by talking? He didn't insult a single person the entire time and there is no rule that says you can't talk while your opponent is thinking, that is part of poker. If all you want is a bunch of boring stiffs coolering each other then go watch something else.

finally watched it last night. kassouf was a tv producers dream but overall terrible for the game IMO. can you imagine dealing with a kassouf effect if he won it all? millions would into poker rooms showing their ass trying to imitate 9 high like a boss and parroting all his other goofy lines badly. i actually let out a cheer when he got the boot.

one thing i couldnt help thinking after seeing his final hand was the poor form that he has shown in the weeks prior to that episode airing. he was all over the internet and several podcasts smashing jack effell, wsop and every american that ever played poker for picking on him. i could kind of respect his tactics a bit if he could separate what happens on the table from regular life. he couldve taken his medicine after being eliminated and left with a little class but instead he wants to justify his bad behavior and portray himself as some kind of victim to save face. just like him being the great villain for tv he got the perfect comeuppance in the end that you would hope to see for someone like that.

Both the excessive chatter and the constant tanking were clear rule breaches. Rule 65 covers both:

65. Etiquette Violations

Repeat etiquette violations will result in penalties. Examples include but are not limited to: persistent delay of the game, unnecessarily touching other players’ cards or chips, repeatedly acting out of turn, betting out of reach of the dealer, abusive conduct, and excessive chatter.

The chirping was borderline. No one ever really asked for quiet from him so they could think other than maybe Stacy Matuson, and then she immediately starts asking him questions.

The tanking was reprehensible. There are some spots I understand not snap-mucking to avoid giving info, but on the K2 hand, he flats pre, misses completely, then tanks on a rags flop to an all-in and a call. Why? It isn't giving anything away to say "I flatted something that missed this raggy flop".

Most of them were about yammering/tanking generally when it was his action. The hands shown where he was talking when it was his opponents action no one ever said please shut up so I can think except Stacy who immediately starts asking Will questions.
