Guy's on Adderall and Red Bull or cocaine. Remember the old Bill Cosby routine about cocaine? Cosby asks what's so great about cocaine, other guy says, "well, it intensifies your personality!" Cosby says, "but what if you're an *******?!"

The one good thing about WK:

Playing the other day and I limp 99 UTG. MP raises to $15 and gets 3 callers. Gets back to me and I reraise to $100. After a bit everyone folds, but some murmuring about what I have and that I was full of it, so I turn up one 9 and get to declare "9 high like a boss" while mucking the other card.

Worst think about Kassouf is constant stalling. He slows the game so much, and the tournament clock is ticking...

What strikes me in this discussion is how for a lot of people, Kassouf's opponents come over as being even worse than him.
Maybe a good example is the Kassouf vs Benger KK vs AA hand. Alright, I wasn't there! And on the ESPN video, Benger seems to completely overreact by talking of "verbal abuse" while we can't see any trace of verbal abuse in the video. But if it's true that this hand took 18 minutes, I don't know which kind of abuse it is, but it is definitely abuse!! And we don't know what kind of talk there was during those 18 minutes.
Most of the people bashing Benger don't understand the situation imo and don't realise that they would probably have tilted way earlier.
And not reacting to this kind of abuse is even worse! It's like not telling a child when he's doing crazy stuff. The only bad thing Benger did was to wait for too long and let it explode instead of dealing with it rationally.

All that being said, it is good for the show, so it's good for the game, so it's good for me!
Just hoping that next year, people get to watch the show because there is someone that is very lovable or colourful, and not because we have an obnoxious guy on the tables.

No idea how that ass clown hasn't gotten punched in the face by now. If he was at my table I'd get up and walk away.

Any behavior that will get you punched away from the table has no place at the table. That's all there is.

I feel like Daniel would definitely own Kassouf, he is just too repetitive and creative to throw Daniel off. It requires a different type of character to get under Negraneanu's skin, just like Justin Schwartz did in 2015.

Amen to this!
I never saw him insult anyone, but they insulted him and got away with it...

I love him, he brings a new dimension to the game

Nice bump. Was hoping this thread would just die.

I don't have a problem with his personality, but when he takes ages to fold 92o it gets pretty annoying.

By that definition, Jersey Shore, Dysfunctional Housewives Of ________ and the Kardashian mess are better TV than HSP, WPT and PAD.

Very true. The focus on Kassouf kinda ruined the 2016 coverage. The final table was very good but the action leading up to the final table wasn't shown well. 2015 had great episodes before the final table. Several interesting players and storylines, even had their own bad boy in Schwartz but they did not focus everything on Schwartz. It just turned out to be strange that 2015 then gave us the worst final table of all time.

Kassouf is represents every obnoxious douche at the table.... on steroids. His behavior is unethical and it's basically solved via rule enforcement. Rules do not allow you to harass someone when they're trying to think. Intentional and consistent delaying of the game is also against the rules. So basically, it's a matter of enforcement - no new rules needed.

Benger isn't worse - he said what he said because lost his cool but that's only because K harassed him non-stop. And this is good for the game the same way fights were good for the Jerry Springer show. Hey, maybe we should some fights at WSOP too, no? Add some excitement for the viewer?

"Look at me..... look at me"
"Hey everyone, look at ME.....ME ME ME!"

The fact that's he's not the littlest bit contrite that he basically monopolized the WSOP main event, tells you everything you need to know. He was a flaming ass.... who who came across as one. Own it! Instead of blaming others ie. "the Americans were rude to me!" Lol

Tender gentle Will can sure as hell dish it out but whines like a baby when he gets blowback. Classic sign of loserdom.

I just bing watched 6 episodes and it was a tragedy to see him over and over and over at the expense of the other players. In fact the series was down to less than 25 people and 5 episodes in before they even covered in any detail a colourful but respectful "little guy" called Nguyen.

I got the feeling that ESPN really skewed their coverage to make him a super villain. It's hard to make a judgment without 1st hand knowledge + info.

I've thought about that too, as he seemed to be at the feature table a lot.

Do you know how the feature table is chosen?

I always assumed it was random but then how do you get Coleman, Marchese, and x (big name) all at the same table when you've literally got 15 more tables filled with no names. (I'm not saying "no-goods , just no-names." To the public)

The choice for feature table can be anything but random

The feature table is definitely not random. I always assumed that the WSOP draws the seat assignments and then ESPN takes a look and chooses which table they want to be the feature one, that's why DNegs was at the feature table the whole time from 200 left down to his elimination in 2015

I don't think ESPN actually gets to choose who is at the table though.

Just found this on a Google search, it's from a 2011 Q & A regarding the WSOP; it was on WSOP.com and written to answer player key questions. It explains the "feature table" draws.

How are players chosen to sit at a tv table?

"The ESPN production team will be following storylines that they believe will be beneficial for a broad television audience to be made aware of and will then request of the tournament staff to have a certain player(s) appear at one of the two “TV” tables. However, the tournament staff ultimately determines if and when to make a table switch. And, no individual players can be moved to a TV table. The entire table will be moved as a whole. Example: You are seated at table Blue 322. If the “TV” table requests a player from Blue 322 Seat 4, they will have to take the entire table seated at Blue 322."

Again this is from 2011, I'm not sure if any things changed in the past 6 years but it is interesting.
