Kara Scott's interviews on HSP: Worthless
I find these interviews such a waste of time I have to fast forward every time.
Does anyone else feel the same? I don't blame Kara for this, but the interviews are so boring because most of these pros talk like they just smoked weed and they seem to find these interviews pointless too.

Re: Kara Scott's interviews on HSP: Worthless
I like the Kara Scott interviews.
From this week, she asked the players what their best session was, and you gotta love Barry's response. "My best session ever? I can't even remember my best girlfriend ever!"

Re: Kara Scott's interviews on HSP: Worthless
What bugs me is that every season has had something roughly similar, except it was just the player talking to an unseen interviewer, where we didn't hear what the interviewer was saying. So we got rid of Benza so that less of the interview spots would consist of the players talking. Ridiculous.

Re: Kara Scott's interviews on HSP: Worthless
Like I've stated a few times... the changes in this show aren't a reflection of what works for the viewer, they're reflective of a producer's ego.
Someone at GSN or the production company felt themselves to be bigger than a successful show. This is common in the industry. So, they make changes based on their ill-researched opinions, and here we are.
I'm sure in the producer's mind, these interviews would add "more depth" to the show.
All they really do is make the show more sterile, and chip away at its personality.
Once again, fans should do everything they can to let GSN and the producers know it's not working. But, ultimately... you're dealing with massive egos, and those egos are probably the kind that will drive a show into the ground before admitting they made an error.

Re: Kara Scott's interviews on HSP: Worthless
i have not watched much HSP but i've always found kara to be both entertaining and knowledgeable when i see her on TV. it sounds like you beef is that most poker players aren't great when being interviewed, i can't say i disagree with you, but it's sort of hard to blame kara.
imo they should stick to interviewing the most articulate participants, but i like to see more than just the play at the tables.

Re: Kara Scott's interviews on HSP: Worthless
This thread is worthless.
2+2's hate on this series because the guy who no one here never ever said a good word about before he was axed mantra is really really getting old
They have made tiny changes to HSP - it's still the best poker show on TV whether you like the changes or not; just get over it and watch the show for christ's sake
Oh and Kara rocks obv.

Re: Kara Scott's interviews on HSP: Worthless
I've only seen the first episode of this season, but I found Kara's involvement to be a nice change on HSP.
While I feel that she would be a neat addition to the booth and to compliment Gabe and his commentary, her interviews were fine in my book.
Unfortunately the fact is that poker players aren't exactly the most exuberant or enjoyable personalities. When you are interviewing people who have made a living in a rather anti-social game of poker and then thrust them in front of a camera and expect them to be outgoing and articulate, it is just an unreasonable expectation.
Having experienced this first hand through my StoxPoker Podcasts, an interview is only as good as the guest you have on the show. You can take the best interviewer in the world and the interview is only as rich in content and entertainment as the guest allows.
Nonetheless, I think Kara's poker knowledge is undisputed and it is nice to have both a pretty face as well as a person who understands the game doing the interviews.

Re: Kara Scott's interviews on HSP: Worthless
Kara interview with Gus Hansen was good this week.
It certainly helped that Gus was honest and harsh about his own play on the hand when he said it was terrible bluff once river Ace hit.
