I read her autobiography years ago and she came across as a born snob and shallow as hell. Very self-obsessed and manipulative too, as most showbiz types are.

She can be funny tho. The joke she made after her Husband's suicide was comedy gold:

She was having dinner with her Daughter in a very expensive restaurant not long after her husband died. She picked up the menu and said to her Daughter, "If your Father was still alive, he'd kill himself all over again if he saw these prices".

Truth be told, the two times I ventured into high stakes rooms just to look around, once in Borgata and once in Bellagio, the sight of the poker pros playing there did make me throw up in my mouth a little. Every other player there was an unkempt 300+ lb guy with tracksuit pants and miserable expression on his face.

So what is an actor? A bad comic? are they being truthful? Ethics is something that the poker player has that they don't, Annie may be an exception though.

The poker player is honest about there deception unlike the rest.

For the record I haven't seen Joan Rivers or her Daughter in years, they both look like scary poster creatures for "Say no to Plastic Surgery" WOW, are they scary.

I don't even think its accurate to say that poker players have lower standards when it comes to ethics. Like you said, the game is based on deception. Anyone who enters the game realizes that their opponent(s) are trying to deceive them as to the quality of their hands. Simply playing the game in a deceptive manner does not constitute lower ethics. Now attempting to collude, sneak a peak at your opponents cards, angle shoot, etc would definitely be classified as lower ethics. But I don't think the vast majority of players engage in these underhanded tactics.
